New Orleans, LA – September 12, 2008 – The JW Marriott New Orleans is pleased to announce the appointment of Etienne “ET” Tardy as director of sales and marketing.  No stranger to the New Orleans hotel scene, Tardy is a 17-year Marriott veteran who started with the hotel company at the New Orleans Marriott and later worked at the JW Marriott New Orleans.
In his new role, Tardy will be overseeing all sales and marketing activities and a eight-person team at the four-star property.  The JW Marriott New Orleans, located at the edge of the French Quarter in the Central Business District, offers 487 guestrooms and seven suites.  The hotel boasts 19,000 square feet of upscale meeting and event space complete with 20 breakout rooms and the Ile de France Grand Ballroom.  Shula’s Steakhouse, one of the top five steakhouses in the country, is located in the hotel.
Staying in both the Marriott and NoLa families, Tardy’s appointment follows his most recent position as the director of corporate sales for the New Orleans Marriott.  Prior to that, he was senior sales manager at the JW Marriott New Orleans and San Antonio Marriott Rivercenter and Riverwalk.  Tardy began his career with Marriott at the New Orleans Marriott holding several positions including concierge supervisor and assistant desk manager.
“I am thrilled to be returning to the JW Marriott New Orleans.  The hotel’s stellar reputation and top-notch service make it an ideal property for business and leisure travelers alike.  New Orleans has made significant strides and it’s a pleasure to be working alongside the JW New Orleans sales team to continue on this exciting, upward path,” said Tardy.
