Vice President of Food and Beverage Operations |

Englewood, Colo. � July 9, 2008 � Mark Hickey, senior vice president of operations for Destination Hotels and Resorts, announced that industry veteran Mitch Mehr was recently selected to fill the newly created position of vice president of food and beverage operations. Destination recently created the vice president position in order to further highlight the company�s unique platform of food and beverage offerings throughout the portfolio and to capitalize on the success and customer loyalty at experiences such as T Cook�s at Royal Palms Resort and Spa in Phoenix, Baca at The Inverness Hotel and Conference Center in Denver, VOICE at Hotel ICON in Houston and The Driskill Grill at the Driskill in Austin, Texas. �The food and beverage component of the overall guest hospitality experience has become even more essential whether guests are attending meetings, travelling for business or enjoying some family time together,� said Hickey. �We recognize how a creative, well positioned experience driven restaurant or customized catering offerings establish a property and create memorable guest experiences, and further guest recommendation and loyalty. Mitch has extensive experience in the restaurant and hotel arenas that will help elevate the company�s profile of offering distinctive food and beverage experiences.� Mehr will oversee the development and implementation of Destination�s food and beverage platform and standards, which include emphasizing and cultivating a reputation for exceptional cuisine and service in order to create a more memorable experience for guests. Mehr will leverage the unique, signature food and beverage experiences throughout the collection to enhance the food and beverage offerings at Destination properties. Operationally, he will create a community of food and beverage professionals throughout the collection to develop synergies, best practices and training programs to grow the caliber of associates in this area. When not in the field, Mehr will be based out of the Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif. pre-opening offices of Terranea Resort, which is currently under construction and slated to open in June 2009. Mehr has more than 20 years of operational experience in the food and beverage industry and most recently served as the vice president of restaurant operations for Kimpton�s West Coast Hotels and Restaurants. Mehr also was the vice president of food and beverage operations for Kor Hotel Group where he was responsible for day-to-day operations in 11 hotels, including The Tides in Miami Beach and Viceroy in Santa Monica. Prior to Kor, Mehr was the West Coast regional director of operations for China Grill Management, a leader of independent restaurants, many of which are based in prominent hotels and resorts across the country. A native New Yorker, Mehr is married with two children. He enjoys traveling, cooking, is a sports enthusiast and avid jogger.
