With this exciting news comes an unprecedented announcement from PHG that strengthens the partnership between the Resort and the San Bernardino National Forest Association. PHG is in the final steps of completing necessary plans and processes to allocate one percent of the Resort fee to the San Bernardino National Forest Association. This program allows the Resort to appropriate one-third of the existing three percent Resort fee to the SBNFA beginning August 1, 2008.

We strongly believe in giving back to the environment here at Northwoods, says Michael Goldstein, President of Packard Hospitality Group, LLC. The resort takes advantage of nearly every aspect of the beautiful surroundings, it only makes sense to take steps to ensure it remains beautiful for our guests for generations to come.

This partnership is particularly vital to the success of the educational programs that are offered by the nonprofit.  The contributions from the Resort will expand SBNFAs capacity to connect with millions of people in Southern California and redeem the land conservation mission.

We are very excited about this generous offering from the Northwoods Resort and the Packard Hospitality Group, shared the SBNFA Executive Director, Sarah Miggins. This monthly income will help strengthen the foundation of our organization and provide opportunities for meaningful and memorable visitor experiences in Big Bear and within our National Forest.

The pristine mountain location lays claim to 300 days of sunshine each year and endless options for outdoor activities.  Visitors to Big Bear can experience traditional mountain activities such as hiking, biking, boating, skiing and fishing or venture into more unexpected recreational options like parasailing, golf and horseback riding.

Northwoods Resort has long been a favorite destination for visitors seeking unspoiled beauty and an incredible array of options for outdoor activities, says Lynne Baker, General Manager. And now guests of the Resort will each be a part of not only enjoying, but also enhancing this magnificent destination.

The resort is an obvious choice for those who enjoy open-air pursuits but a surprise element is its appeal to business professionals seeking an escape from urban chaos. Featuring 9,000 square feet of adjustable meeting space, lavished with inviting fireplaces, comfortable seating and exceptional outdoor venues such as the amphitheatre - an inspiring setting for either corporate meetings or social events. From casual to formal events or boardroom to ballroom facilities, Northwoods Resort can accommodate your group.

The main conference space is 4,000 square feet and can be divided into four independent meeting rooms, each with its own lighting, sound and environmental controls. The second floor conference center boasts 5,000 square feet of meeting space with its own private reception lobby and lounge. For smaller meetings, consider our board or hospitality rooms, many of which have fireplaces.  Holding your corporate event, meeting, or company retreat in the mountains ensures a stimulating and productive environment for attendees, speakers and guests.

Each of the 148 guestrooms feature accommodations that instill the spirit of Southern California's high country. Guests enjoy cozy, private retreats appointed in handcrafted mountain lodge furnishings. Rich woodwork complement stone fireplaces in some guest rooms and all feature complimentary wireless Internet.

Stillwells Restaurant is a favorite dining spot for locals and visitors alike offering breakfast, lunch and dinner daily as well as a scrumptious Sunday Champagne Brunch.
