Noble House Completes $8 million Renovation at the
Hilton San Diego on Mission Bay

.

SAN DIEGO May 27, 2008 - Inspired by the natural beauty of Southern Californias coastline amid 18-acres of beautifully landscaped gardens and courtyards overlooking the pristine waters of famed Mission Bay, the Four-Diamond Hilton San Diego has recently placed the finishing touches on an $8 million Phase Two resort renovation this Spring, 2008, according to General Manager Gregg Fracassa.

The 357-room resort boasts the comfort of a California lifestyle with a newly refurbished lobby, retail Marketplace, restaurant, bar, swimming pool, and poolside bar & grille, all designed by Dallas-based Vivian Nichols Associates.

New Restaurant and Bar Invites Diners to Celebrate the Senses

After being whisked away to the newly renovated Acqua restaurant or The Olive bar, guests are treated to a unique experience whether dining indoors or out.  The interior features a cascading chandelier of glass bubbles suspended within a large skylight.  Design highlights include wood flooring, natural tonalities and a mix of organic shaped table bases and curved banquettes that provide inviting seating vignettes.  A punctuated wall at the restaurant entry provides a glimpse of two central communal tables with custom light fixtures overhead.

The private dining room takes on a more traditional wine cellar aesthetic with distressed wood wainscots, brick paved floor and a hand stenciled, woven textured wall covering.  Chandeliers are created from reclaimed French oak wine barrels.

The bayside exterior patio showcases over scale Italian acrylic lamps, woven resin chairs and organic shaped benches with resort textiles in natural shades.  Distinctive pod style accent chairs, contemporary market umbrellas and welcoming fire pits entice diners to linger a little longer.

An Outdoor Sanctuary Promotes Ultimate Relaxation

In true resort style the newly renovated pool area features private garden cabanas with comfortable chaise lounges, unique pod style chairs surrounding a fire pit and a cascading waterfall amidst tropical gardens and landscaping.  There is now a gradual beach entrance with the addition of two palm trees leading the way to this idyllic setting.  A second Jacuzzi was added and the childrens pool was expanded for more family fun.

Frescos poolside bar & grille features woven resin seating, accent tables and an art wall featuring dimensional resin nautilus shells.  The architecture is expansive, with views of the bay through operable windows and doors that unfold to allow the outdoors in.

European Charm Beckons Travelers

The newly renovated lobby features textured Italian tile floors with an accent wave of azure glass mosaics reminiscent of the bay.  Furnishings are oversized with tailored lines and textiles in palettes of periwinkle, cocoa, ocean blue and accents of lime.  A feature wall behind the registration desk showcases hand blown glass vessels in a rainbow of shades.  The lobby also features a separate concierge desk to assist guests with travel plans and itineraries.

A Café Gives Fresh Pastries and Coffee a New and Delicious Name

Whether stopping for a coffee or sweet fix, the new A*roma Café is a café that provides relaxation located off the lobby area. Enjoy delicious Austrian pastries made from scratch using the personal recipes from the resorts Austrian born Executive Chef, Hermann Schaefer.  If a healthy snack is needed before indulging in the sweets, other food products include yogurt parfaits and sandwiches that are artfully wrapped with the A*roma logo.  Starbucks coffee is served at A*roma, as well as waters, juices and other bottled beverages.  Sit and watch television for a spell on a new flat screen TV or catch up on local and world news in the intimate relaxation area that is carpeted with cozy seating and plenty of lighting.

Marketplace Provides An Array of Gifts & Necessities for All Guests

The newly-opened Marketplace houses custom-made display cases with contemporary lines in honey toned wood and bronze accents.  Overall, the aesthetics are light, fresh and spacious.  The Marketplace offers an extensive selection of designer and logod apparel and swimwear for men, women and children, pool toys and accessories, decorative wall hangings, wine glasses and pewter pieces, note cards, books, as well as snacks, sodas and adult beverages.  The choices are endless.
