Adam Hamdy Named General Manager of
Dinahs Garden Hotel, Palo Alto, California
.

PALO ALTO, CA, May 16, 2008 A seasoned international hotelier with more than 25 years of experience, Adam Hamdy has been named general manager of Dinahs Garden Hotel, a tropical-inspired boutique hotel in Palo Alto.

Im thrilled to join the team at this beautiful property, which Ive always considered to be a hidden oasis in the middle of Silicon Valley, says Hamdy. In the months to come, we will be enhancing the property with even more elaborate landscaping and distinctive furnishings. We will also be developing a more dramatic physical presence that draws guests in from busy El Camino Real.

Hamdys career profile includes positions as general manager of the Crowne Plaza in Palo Alto, Regional Director of Food & Beverage at the Red Lion Casino & Resorts in Nevada, and Vice President/General Manager of the 4-Diamond LeBaron Hotel in San Jose. He was also the owner of the International, an acclaimed Minneapolis-area restaurant.

Hamdy brings a unique international perspective to the property. He was born in Egypt, raised in Denmark and educated in Berlin. His cordial demeanor is appealing to guests from around the globe. Fluent in English, German, Danish, Swedish, Norwegian and Arabic, he can even greet many of the guests in their native language.

Having lived and traveled so broadly, Ive learned about the hospitality tradition in many countries. I want to bring the best of all cultures to the hotel, says Hamdy. At Dinahs, we host guests from around the world who come to Palo Alto. I want to make sure that every guest feels welcome here.

After completing his undergraduate studies in Cairo, Hamdy studied business at Berlin University and apprenticed in hotels in Denmark, Germany, France and Spain. He then earned a Hospitality Management Certificate from the University of Holiday Inn. He has served on the board of the San Jose Convention and Visitors Bureau and the selection committee for the hospitality management programs of San Jose State University and Santa Clara Community College.

A resident of Los Altos, Hamdy is eager to take part in more community activities and to welcome locals as well as out-of-towners to the hotel. We want our neighbors to know that this is an ideal venue for events in their lives from club meetings to weddings to graduation parties. Its also a wonderful place to host your out-of-town guests if you dont have a large home.

A distinctive boutique property, Dinahs Garden Hotel offers 148 guest rooms and suites surrounded by eight acres of tropical-themed gardens and lagoons. The hotel is just minutes from Stanford University and major Silicon Valley companies. Two well-known restaurants the Poolside Grill and Trader Vics at Dinahs Garden Hotel are on site. Trader Vics serves its legendary Mai Tai in a setting that is accented by original artwork from the Pacific Rim. The hotels adjacent banquet and conference facility can accommodate up to 250 guests for meetings and social events in a variety of settings.
