New Castle Hotels Appoints Rick Norman and Michelle Boudreau
General Manager and Director of Sales, Respectively



 

SHELTON, CT � June 16, 2008 � Rick Norman, a hospitality industry veteran with 14 years experience, and Michelle Boudreau, a seasoned sales and marketing pro, have been named general manager and director of sales, respectively, for the Residence Inn expected to open in Moncton, New Brunswick  in June. The property is being co-developed and will be managed by New Castle Hotels & Resorts, a Shelton, Conn.-based third-party manager and hotel development company.

Norman, a resident of Halifax, Nova Scotia, comes to Moncton from the Keltic Lodge Resort and Spa, where he served as interim general manager on behalf of New Castle Hotels & Resorts, which manages the property � one of three Signature Resorts � for the province of Nova Scotia. Prior to his tenure at the Keltic Lodge, Norman served as director of the rooms division for the Westin Nova Scotian, New Castle�s award-winning Canadian flagship property. He joined the Nova Scotian team in July 1996, formerly serving as the property�s front office manager, and a guest services manager.

Norman holds a business administration degree from Nova Scotia Community College. In 2001, he was voted Westin Leader of the Year. A member of the Halifax branch of the Progress Club, a national charitable organization through which young professionals raise funds for charity, he is also an active volunteer at his local soup kitchen and food bank.

Boudreau has worked in sales and marketing since 2001. A resident of Shediac, New Brunswick, she joins the Residence Inn�s opening team from the Holiday Inn Express Hotel and Suites in Moncton, where she served as corporate sales manager and marketing manager for two years. Her prior sales experience includes work with Transcontinental Printing and Hawk Communications, both in Moncton. She holds a degree in business technology marketing management from NBCC Moncton and a human resources certification from the Institute of Professional Management of Canada. She is an active fund-raiser in annual United Way campaigns in her community.

The new Residence Inn in Moncton, New Brunswick is expected to open in June 2008. The 133-suite extended stay facility will feature an onsite restaurant, The Keg, leased to an experienced restaurant management company. The hotel will also offer a complimentary hot breakfast buffet, indoor pool, fitness room and parking garage. Located at 600 Main Street, the hotel is convenient to Magnetic Hill, the Magnetic Hill Zoo, Tidal Bore Park, Crystal Palace Amusement Park and Magic Mountain Waterpark and just five miles from the Greater Moncton Airport.
