Stafford's responsibilities at the 80-room top rated city hotel will include the overall management of departments, streamlining service procedures to ensure the property's luxury standards for guests, as well as directing and overseeing the entire management operation for the property.

Stafford has held top leadership positions with several hotels including the Hamilton Crowne Plaza in Washington, DC, the Hilton Suites Hotel in Oakbrook Terrace, IL, and was the opening General Manager for Embassy Suites in Chicago, IL, and in Washington, DC. 
Prior to that, Stafford opened the Park Suite Hotel in Orlando, FL and the Pickett Suite Hotel in Atlanta, GA.

Most recently, and for a total of ten years, Stafford was the General Manager for the Holiday Inn on the Hill in Washington, DC.  Some of his major contributions included several systematic renovations transforming the hotel into an upscale boutique property, consistently increasing revenue and occupancy.  He changed the concept of the hotel's restaurant and catering facilities, and also repositioned the property to reflect new sales and marketing efforts resulting in two industry awards; the 2003 HSMAI Adrian Awards and the 2004 Web Marketing Association Standards of Excellence Award.

Stafford holds an MBA from the University of Chicago specializing in Marketing and Finance, an MBA from Averett University, and is a Certified Hotel Administrator by the American Hotel and Lodging Association.  He has also published industry related articles in Cornell Hotel & Restaurant Quarterly and in the Journal of Travel and Tourism.
