Geoffrey Richard Howe Named General Manager
of the Meritus Mingde Shanghai

Hotels & Resorts is pleased to announce the appointment of Geoffrey
Richard Howe as General Manager of its latest addition, Meritus Mingde
Shanghai, with effect from 9 April 2008.
With a Bachelor of Arts degree in Asian & International Studies from Southern Cross University, New South Wales and a Graduate Certificate in International Hotel Management from Griffith University, Geoffrey started his hotel career at the Front Office of the Hilton Hotel, Brisbane. Moving on to work with several Australian chain hotels in the Australian states of Queensland, Western Australia and Victoria; Geoffrey has garnered experience in both city and resort hotels. Geoffrey was most recently in the employ of Argyle Hotel Management Group (Australia) holding the double portfolio of Vice President of Operations (China) and General Manager Argyle International Airport Hotel Shanghai. Bringing with him 17 years of international experience in city hotels and resorts, Richard brings with him a wealth of knowledge and will undoubtedly spearhead Meritus� success, leading his team at Meritus Shanghai to a level of premium hospitality. Slated to open in 2008, Meritus Mingde Shanghai is the latest addition
to the Meritus portfolio and its second in Shanghai. Located in the ZhaBei
district , one of the nine central districts in Shanghai and envisaged
as the new commercial district of the Greater Shanghai, Meritus Mingde
is within one and a half kilometres of major shopping malls and Shanghai
People�s Square. Charting a total investment in excess of US$100 million,
