.

BOSTON, Jan. 24, 2008 - Pyramid Hotel Group, a full-service, independent hotel company, today announced that it has opened the 484-room Hilton Stamford Hotel & Executive Meeting Center in Connecticut following a multi-million renovation and brand conversion. The former Westin Stamford underwent an extensive, eight-month refurbishment that included total upgrades to all guest rooms, meeting space, public areas, front entrance, parking garage, and the soon-to-be-completed, IACC-approved Executive Meeting Center. The like-new property, acquired in October 2006, is managed by Pyramid Hotel Group.

"The completely made-over hotel is now the finest in the Stamford market, offering the most meeting space and the best location," said Jim Dina, principal and chief operating officer of Pyramid Hotel Group. "With its proximity to New York, Stamford is ideally located, easily accessible to Manhattan by car or train and just a short drive from Westchester, LaGuardia, and JFK International Airports."

"The hotel offers 45,000 square feet of meeting space, the city's largest meeting and convention facilities," said Mark Fallon, area managing director and hotel general manager. "We will be capable of handling groups ranging from 10 to 1,500 in our 10,000-square-foot ballroom.

We are the area's first and only IACC-certified Executive Meeting Center, a 7,500-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility designed to maximize the productivity of any meeting. We've also accommodated the preferences of meeting planners by conveniently locating our meeting facilities on one floor," he noted. "In addition, the property features a 7,300-square-foot Garden Pavilion Tent for seasonal corporate and social events, such as weddings and bar mitzvahs and bat mitzvahs."

Fallon noted that the hotel also will to appeal to business travelers who call on the several hundred corporate and regional headquarters located in the immediate area. "We are a short, five-minute walk from the train station, which also will make us a highly affordable alternative to Manhattan," he said. The hotel offers complimentary transportation to the train station, the nearby Stamford Town Center, downtown Stamford and area businesses.

Located just off of exit 7 on I-95 in the office park at One First Stamford Place, the 10-story property features 484 completely renovated, spacious guest rooms (including 14 suites). Conventional rooms are outfitted with 32-inch, flat-panel plasma screen TVs, while preferred level rooms feature 37-inch flat panel TVs. All rooms offer the Hilton Serenity premium bedding package. Hotel amenities include a full-service restaurant and lounge and fitness center with indoor pool and hot tub. The hotel also participates in the HHonors frequent guest program.
