Northern California Chapter of HSMAI Names Board of
Directors for 2008; Ellen Eason Elected President

Programs for 2008 Will Highlight Hospitality Economic and Marketing Trends

SAN RAMON, CA - Jan. 24, 2008 � Northern California�s hospitality marketing group will expand the chapter�s geographic focus to the entire region and grow membership beyond its traditional hotel base to include more attractions, restaurants, wineries and museums.

�Our members have told us that they want greater geographic diversity in our membership and varied program venues,� says Ellen Eason, newly elected president of the Northern California Chapter of the Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association (HSMAI).

The association welcomed its new board of directors for 2008 at its January program at the Claremont Resort & Spa. 

Northern California Chapter HSMAI board members for 2008 are:

  • President: Ellen Eason, Partner, Eason Communications LLC
  • Immediate Past President: John Mathew, Director of Sales & Marketing, Embassy Suites Hotel Milpitas
  • Vice President/Membership: Chris Shores, Director of Sales & Marketing, Woodfin Suites Hotel
  • Vice President /Education: Karie Geiger, Director of Sales & Marketing, Tri-Valley Convention & Visitors Bureau
  • Director of Fundraising: Carol Epstein, Senior Account Executive for VIA Magazine
  • Director of Hospitality: Susan Hollers, Director of Sales & Marketing, Claremont Resort & Spa
  • Director at Large: Clark Rabano, Director of Sales & Marketing, Sheraton Sunnyvale
  • Managing Director: Kelvin Nanney, Member Manager, Meeting Possibilities
�We�re delighted to have so many talented board members from throughout the area,� says Ellen Eason, newly elected president of HSMAI Northern California. �Hospitality is one of Northern California�s most dynamic industries. We will draw on our board�s expertise as we present programs that highlight trends in hospitality marketing.�

Programs for 2008 will focus on topics ranging from technology trends to social media to economic forecasts that will affect hotels, resorts, attractions, visitors� bureaus and other hospitality and tourism entities.
