Diego Pineda Named Resident Manager of the
Renaissance Boston Waterfront Hotel

Boston, MA � February 22, 2008 � The Renaissance Boston Waterfront Hotel, which opens this month, has appointed Diego Pineda as resident manager of the new 471-room South Boston property.  Pineda brings nearly 15 years of varied hospitality experience, much of which has been with Marriott throughout North, Central and South America, to the first Renaissance in the downtown Boston area.  In his new post, Pineda will assist General Manager Terry Worden with the overall operation of the hotel ensuring the highest levels of customer satisfaction are met for both leisure and group travelers in all areas of the guest experience.
 
Pineda, a native Bostonian, began his career in the hospitality industry at the Boston Marriott Copley Place, where he served as a front desk clerk.  He quickly honed his management skills at the New York Marriott Marquis and went on to serve as general manager at Homestead Village, Inc. in Charlotte, North Carolina and Miami, Florida.  Other positions held were director of room operations at Panama Marriott Hotel, rooms operations manager task force in Central and South America opening the Santiago Marriott Hotel in Chile as well as the Marriott and Renaissance Resorts in Costa Do Sauipe Brazil.  Pineda also served as director of services at Chicago Marriott Downtown Magnificent Mile, where he was awarded the 2002 Leader of The Year award.  
 
The Renaissance Boston Waterfront Hotel is situated on the South Boston Waterfront, within the 1,000-acre, mixed-use development called the Seaport District.  Cambridge, Massachusetts, architects, Kling Stubbins, created the sleek 21-story building, which redefines the waterfront skyline, with a design inspired by the sails of a ship billowing in the wind.  The hotel�s interior design, developed by Beverly Hills, California-based Cheryl Rowley Design, weaves marine-inspired elements, vivid colors and dramatic finishes into the hotel�s custom-crafted artwork, furnishings and fixtures.  The Renaissance Boston Waterfront Hotel offers 471 guestrooms, including 21 suites.  It also features over 21,000 sq. ft. of flexible meeting space, with a 10,700-square-foot ballroom and a 4,400-square-foot junior ballroom that are conveniently located on the same floor.  Guests will enjoy a Starbucks® Café, a lobby lounge, a fitness center with lap pool, spa treatment rooms and an outdoor terrace, as well as a 24-hour business center.
