The American Hotel & Lodging Association Finalizes Event Agenda for 2008

Fundraisers, Trade Shows, and Annual Meetings
for the Hotel Industry�s Top Executives

Washington, February 11, 2008 � The American Hotel & Lodging Association (AH&LA), the sole trade association representing the nation�s lodging industry, announces an exciting, bi-coastal calendar of sponsored events in 2008.  Fundraisers, industry trade shows, and annual meetings of the industry�s top executives influential in shaping its future are among events for 2008, including:
April 9-11: AH&LEI Lodging Management Program (LMP) National Competition
� Walt Disney�s Shades of Green Resort � Orlando, Florida 
� In its fifth year, 15 teams from of 11th and 12th graders from around the country will blend classroom learning and real-life work experiences in this hands-on competition hosted by the AH&LA�s Educational Institute.
 
April 13-15: AH&LA Legislative Action Summit (LAS)
� The Willard InterContinental, Washington, D.C. 
� LAS connects members with influential policy makers on Capitol Hill and the White House to network and develop legislative solutions for pertinent industry issues.  Major topics on this year�s agenda include pushing H-2B Visa relief, revising ADA restrictions, and spurring initiatives dedicated to greening the hospitality industry.
 
June 9-12: AH&LA Summer Summit
� The Skirvin Hilton, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 
� AH&LA�s third annual Summer Summit draws members and nearly 20 committees converged for four fast-paced days of business, knowledge, and networking.  AH&LA recognizes notable industry professionals and properties with the annual Stars of the Industry Awards.
 
August 21: AH&LA HotelPAC Broadmoor Classic Golf Tournament
� The Broadmoor, Colorado Springs, Colorado
� As one of HotelPAC�s top-earning events, the golf tournament is one of the most successful methods for raising vital funds which support industry-friendly candidates for federal office. 
 
September 7-10: AH&LEF Golf Classic 
� La Quinta Resort & Club, La Quinta, California 
� All avid golfers are invited to attend this annual event, raising vital funds for industry research and scholarship initiatives sponsored by the AH&LA�s Educational Foundation.
 
November 7-11: AH&LA Fall Conference, held in conjunction with the International Hotel/Motel & Restaurant Show (IHM&RS)
� Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, New York, New York
� In conjunction with the industry�s premier trade show which draws approximately 35,000 attendees, this event offers approximately 30 educational seminars on timely industry topics, brings together members of its influential national committees, and sets the stage for professional networking.
