Rodolphe Van Weyenbergh Appointed General Manager, Hotel Metropole Brussels

On 17 September 2007 the board of directors of the Hotel Metropole Brussels promoted Rodolphe Van Weyenbergh to the position of General Manager.

The board of directors of the SA Hotel Metropole chose Van Weyenbergh for his professionalism, experience, youthful energy and dynamism.

Van Weyenbergh has had a natural progression within the management team of the Great Lady of Brussels hotels; resulting in his appointment to the top post.

Van Weyenbergh intends to reinforce the hotels policies of tradition, luxury and quality.

In close collaboration with the board of directors Van Weyenbergh intends to support whole heartedly the plans for continued renovation and renewal.

Aged 30 and born in Brussels, Rodolphe Van Weyenbergh studied law attaining his licence en droit.

Following this, he attended the very prestigious Hotel school of Lausanne, Switzerland, where he studied hotel and business management and gained his Masters degree.

In 2003 Van Weyenbergh began his career at the Radisson SAS Montlfleruy Hotel at Cannes in the post of Chief Steward rapidly progressing to the post of Sales Manager. After 7 months in this situation, Van Weyenbergh was appointed Sales manager at the Radisson SAS at Nice where he stayed until August 2004.

In September 2004, ready for a fresh challenge, Van Weyenbergh returned to his home city to take up the post of Food and Beverage Manager at the Metropole Hotel Brussels. After 2 successful years, Van Weyenberg was promoted to the post of Director of operations and now takes on the post of General Manager.

Built in 1895 the Metropole Hotel has celebrated its 110th anniversary in 2005. The Metropole Hotel is the only remaining hotel of the 19th century in Brussels and is remarkable for the quality of its service and its internal decoration. The main entrance has indeed been decorated in French renaissance style, the reception hall in Empire style, whilst some rooms are in Art Deco style.

In April 2002, the Council of Monuments and Sites of Region of Brussels-Capital listed the Metropole Hotel's façade, as well as the ground floor.
