HEI Hotels Appoints James Gross as the General Manager
of the Sheraton Austin Hotel, Austin, Texas
AUSTIN, Texas, October 29, 2007 � HEI Hotels & Resorts
announced today the appointment of James Gross as the new general manager
of the Sheraton Austin Hotel. Gross joins the hotel from the Hilton
San Diego Gaslamp Quarter where he had served as general manager since
2004.
�We are constantly looking for new talent with a track record of success throughout their career,� said Senior Vice President of Operations Larry Trainor. �James has a history of creating a great customer experience and provided tremendous results every step of the way.� �I look forward to leading the Sheraton Austin team as the hotel enters this exciting new phase of its legacy,� Gross said. �Part of my job also will be to ensure that the hotel continues to be an active member of the Austin community. During his tenure as general manager of the Hilton San Diego Gaslamp Quarter, Gross significantly improved guest service and brand loyalty scores. Prior to that, he served as general manager at a number of upscale hotels throughout the U.S., in Florida, New Jersey and New York, after beginning his career as a chef at the Enjoie Golf Club in Endicott, New York.
