Wolfgang Nitschke, General Manager of The Regent Berlin,
Marks 50th year in Hotel Business

FORT LAUDERDALE � November 1, 2007 � Wolfgang Nitschke, general manager of The Regent Berlin, marks his 50th year in the hospitality business.  The Regent Berlin is part of Regent Hotels & Resorts, a premier brand dedicated to providing guests with an experience of luxury for all the senses. Nitschke oversees management of The Regent Berlin to ensure the finest in luxury service for the hotel�s discerning guests.  The Regent Berlin is operated by The Rezidor Hotel Group.

Nitschke was appointed to The Regent Berlin in 2004 succeeding 15 years of previous experience with Regent.  He was responsible for establishing the Regent luxury standard when Regent Hotels & Resorts reflagged the former Four Seasons Hotel Berlin property in 2004.  Nitschke created new management, marketing and sales teams, and led staff training and recruitment initiatives to ensure all guests received The Regent ExperienceSM�Regent�s commitment to individualized service and unparalleled luxury. In addition, Nitschke oversaw major refurbishments, including the creation of Fischer�s Fritz, a gourmet restaurant from world-class Chef de cuisine Christian Lohse which has been awarded a Michelin Star. Nitschke also oversaw the creation of The Regent Berlin�s extended meeting space and new conference floor.
    
Nitschke currently directs and oversees all day-to-day operations of The Regent Berlin.  The 195-room five-star hotel is located in the city's Mitte district at Gendarmenmarkt Square with a view of the German and French cathedrals, and minutes from historic and cultural sites such as the Brandenburg Gate, the State Opera and Museum Island.    
    
Nitschke has played a key role in the history of Regent, joining the brand in its infancy when created by Bob Burns.  His experience with the Regent brand includes positions working with former properties in Dorchester, London and Los Angeles. He has also served as area director for New York and as vice president for Europe. Prior to his appointments within the Regent family, Nitschke was general manager of Le Meridien Heathrow, general manager at the famous Burj-Al-Arab Hotel in Dubai, area managing director for Germany and general manager of Westin Hotels in Germany.
    
Nitschke�s 50-year hospitality career encompasses an extensive range of hotel management activities, including repositionings, refurbishments and establishing operational standards with an emphasis on training and staff development.  He has worked in over 15 countries throughout the world, including Italy, the U.S., East Asia and Great Britain.
