Gale �Buck� Drossart Awarded the Wisconsin Innkeepers
Association 2007 Innkeeper of the Year Award
WISCONSIN DELLS, WI (October 31, 2007) � Gale �Buck� Drossart, General Manager of The Pointe Hotel & Suites and Conference Center in Minocqua, has been awarded the prestigious Wisconsin Innkeepers Association (WIA) 2007 Innkeeper of the Year Award. This award was presented at the Wisconsin Lodging Conference & Trade Show, held October 29-30 at Chula Vista Resort in Wisconsin Dells. The WIA Innkeeper of the Year Award annually recognizes one individual for outstanding leadership in the Wisconsin lodging industry.
The 2007 Innkeeper of the Year Award was judged by WIA�s Awards Committee based on the following criteria: human resource skills, ongoing WIA involvement, other industry or community involvement, personal and property achievements and leadership ability.
Drossart has served on the WIA�s Board of Directors since 2002, and plays an integral role with the WIA�s Northwoods Chapter, currently serving as president. Drossart has chaired or co-chaired several WIA committees, including Communications/Marketing, Small Properties Forum and the Law Enforcement Task Force. Drossart has also sat on the Legislative/Tourism Committee and is a current member of the Wisconsin Lodging Directory Task Force.
Within his community, Drossart has enjoyed volunteer work with the Minocqua-
Arbor Vitae-Woodruff Area Chamber of Commerce, serving two, four-year terms
as Board Director, and sitting on various committees. He was honored in
2004 with Minocqua's Harold Helterhoff Spirit Award, and received two service
awards for his 19-year involvement with the marketing department at Lakeland
Union High School. Drossart serves as Secretary of the Minocqua-Arbor Vitae-
Woodruff Room Tax Commission, and is a Certified Pool Operator by the National
Swimming Pool Foundation (NSPF CPO).

For his dedication to the hospitality industry, Drossart also earned a special commendation from Governor Jim Doyle. The Wisconsin Innkeepers Association (WIA) represents over 1,000 hotels, motels, resorts, inns, hotel condos, and bed & breakfasts throughout Wisconsin. Established in 1896, the WIA provides marketing, education, legislative, and information services to Wisconsin�s lodging industry.

The six recipients were presented their awards during the WIA Recognition Luncheon, held October 29 at Chula Vista Resort in Wisconsin Dells.
Owners, managers and peers nominated winners for their exemplary service, including their dedication and dependability, job attitude and performance, quality of work, outstanding leadership qualities and special achievements.
