Industry veteran to expand awareness of In-Room
Media and Entertainment System
.
DENVER, CO Nov. 7, 2007 To spearhead growth and awareness of its premium In-Room Media and Entertainment System, Mike Wasik, Chief Executive Officer of RoomLinX, Inc., has hired Bridget Oliva as Vice President, Sales and Marketing. With nearly two decades of hospitality sales-and-marketing experience, Oliva will lead the companys expansion efforts in a number of markets.

Bridgets integrity and reputation as a highly skilled hospitality sales-and-marketing executive made her appointment an easy decision, Wasik said. She brings a wealth of hotel technology development and integration experience that is rare to find in a sales-and-marketing professional. She also possesses an exceptional customer focus and a long list of coveted contacts among the brands, management companies, and hospitality media. She will give RoomLinX the recognition it needs in this growing and very competitive arena.

RoomLinX has been a leader in providing advanced wireless and wired networking solutions for high-speed Internet access to hotel guests, convention center exhibitors, corporate apartments and special event participants throughout North America, Europe and Canada. The company has a proven track record of installing large full-service convention hotels and smaller boutique properties with turn-key network installations.

RoomLinX is entering the In-Room Media and Entertainment market by offering movies, gaming, international and U.S.-based television, music and news; local travel and concierge information; and business productivity tools that include desktop applications, conferencing and printing applications.  RoomLinX not only provides a product that enhances the guest experienced, but one that maximizes revenue generation and provides a unique marketing tool for the hotel.

Catching the RoomLinX Buzz

While HSIA continues to create a stir in hospitality, theres more talk about the need to create a triple-play in the guestroom environment in which telephone, entertainment systems, and guest Internet access are deployed on a common network infrastructure, Oliva said. Delivering personalized technology to the guestroom is one of the leading initiatives of the Hotel Technology Next Generation (HTNG) In-Room Technology Group, and also a driving force behind new technology development and deployment for RoomLinX.

Delivering an entertainment experience in the guestroom that is compatible with, or exceeds what a guest has at home and that can support portable entertainment systems that a traveler takes while on the road is critical to hotel success and differentiation, she added. RoomLinX provides ongoing in-room connectivity and support, the delivery of content and advertising, and the delivery of business and entertainment applications to the guestroom. Its a very exciting time to be a part of this in-room integration movement. The Internet-based media and entertainment offerings that RoomLinX provides are even more exciting to take to market.

Oliva said hospitality is in her blood and selling hotel technology has become a passion. She joins RoomLinX with more that 19 years of hospitality focused sales and marketing experience. Most recently, she contributed to business development for Hcareers, the leading job board for the hospitality industry.

Prior to Hcareers, Oliva dedicated more than12 years of service to Multi-Systems, Inc. (MSI), based in Phoenix, AZ.  As vice president of business development and marketing, her contributions were significant to MSIs growth and expansion throughout North America.

Oliva is an active member of the American Hotel & Lodging Assn. and participates in several areas, including the Allied Executive Committee, AH&LEF Golf Classic Committee, and the HotelPAC. In addition, she has earned the Master Hotel Supplier (MHS) status from the Educational Institute of the AH&LA.
