SoftBrands Signs Navy Lodges Contract

SoftBrands and Navy Lodge Program to Deploy Property Management
Suite of Software to Navy Lodges Worldwide

Minneapolis, Minn -- Dec 11, 2007– SoftBrands, Inc. (AMEX: SBN), a global supplier of enterprise application software, announces the signing of an agreement with Navy Lodge Program to operate SoftBrands enterprise solutions including Epitome, Core and Karyon across its worldwide Navy Lodges.

The Navy Lodge Program operates 43 Navy Lodges worldwide with its headquarters in Virginia Beach, Va. and a call center in Jacksonville, Fla.  Navy Lodges is the leader in military lodging, providing accommodations to active duty military, Department of Defense personnel, retirees and their families for both official and leisure travel at a significant savings.

“The implementation of this new property management system will enable the Navy Lodge Program to continue its leadership position in the military lodging arena,” said Michael Bockelman, vice president NEXCOM and director Navy Lodge Program.  “In the future, it will allow us to take reservations for all Navy lodging facilities worldwide.  More importantly, it will give our Navy Lodge guests the ability for better and quicker service when checking into or out of a Navy Lodge or making a reservation online.”

The Navy Lodges will implement a full enterprise suite, including Epitome Property Management System (PMS), Core Central Reservation System (CRS) Central Reservation Office (CRO) integrated web and Karyon’s distribution service for over-sold situations.  This centralized solution allows the Navy Lodges to offer its customers the facility to book reservations via the web while continuing to maintain the centralized reservation office in its Jacksonville, Fla., call center.

“Navy Lodges is a significant contract for SoftBrands,” said Steve VanTassel, senior vice president and general manager, SoftBrands Hospitality.  “Our ability to deploy a centralized solution that will reduce expenditures while providing even greater flexibility was key in our being selected by this important customer.”

The Navy Exchange Service Command (NEXCOM) is headquarters for the worldwide Navy Exchange System that oversees 107 Navy Exchange facilities and its 344 stores worldwide; 43 Navy Lodges; Ship’s Stores; Uniform Program Management Office and Navy Family Support Programs.  NEXCOM’s mission is to provide authorized customer’s quality goods and services at a savings and to support quality of life programs for active duty military, retirees, reservists and their families.  The Navy Exchange enterprise operates primarily with a non-appropriated fund (NAF) business instrumentality.  Revenues generated are used to support Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) programs.  $2.5 billion in sales were generated in FY’06 with over $40 million in profits provided to Navy MWR programs.
