Mark DePiero, Sean Anderson, Tom Cole and Melissa Fromento
Elected to the IACC Board of Directors

(St. Louis, MO) - December 7, 2007 - Neil Pompan, President of the International Association of Conference Centers, North America has announced the election of new directors for a two-year term from January 1, 2008 through December 31, 2009.

Mark DePiero, Senior Vice President, Global Acquisitions for Dolce International, was re-elected for a second term.  DePiero is a 30-year veteran of the conference center industry and has spent 25 years with Dolce International in North America and in Europe.  He has served IACC as Co-Chair of the Marketing Committee, and currently serves as Co-Chair of Thought Leaders, a committee dedicated to helping define the meeting experience of the future for IACC members and customers.
 
Newly elected to the board is Sean Anderson, General Manager of the Conference Center at Northpointe in Lewis Center, OH.  Anderson, a 20-year veteran of the hospitality industry, has been active in the conference center segment for more than 15 years in food and beverage, sales and marketing, and as general manager.  He has served on the IACC Marketing Committee for three years and is actively involved in maximizing IACC's electronic initiatives.

Also elected to the Board was Tom Cole, General Manager of the Arden Shisler Conference Center at Ohio State University.  His 15 years of experience in the conference center industry include eight years with Benchmark Hospitality's Southeast Asia Division.  He has also served on IACC's Quality Committee and University Relations Committee.

Melissa Fromento, Group Publisher of MeetingsNet/Penton Media was also elected to the Board.  Her ten years of conference center industry experience include four years with the IACC Annual Conference Planning Committee, two years on the Education Committee, and one year on the Food and Beverage Committee.  

The IACC Board of Directors is made up of a total of 20 elected members and is comprised of persons who represent Active, Allied, Affinity Partner or Corporate Headquarters members in good standing.

Neil Pompan (EVP, EMCVenues Consulting Solutions) stated, "The election of these hospitality experts brings a wide range of skills and experience to the Board of Directors at a time when IACC is moving forward with dynamic initiatives that will continue to provide exceptional meeting experiences."

As the governing body of IACC-North America, directors are actively involved in all its operating committees and task forces including Annual Conference, Quality, Marketing, Membership, Leadership Development, Green Task Force, Emerging Trends, and the IACC Learning Network.

IACC was organized to provide and promote market awareness of conference centers as offering separate, distinct and special places and services; to collect and distribute information on the industry and its trends; to provide an exchange of experiences among its members; to address common problems, needs and opportunities; to provide programs and services that assist members in operating more effectively; and to respond to the needs and interests of conference center users as determined by the Board of Directors.
 
Founded in 1981, the International Association of Conference Centers is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to promoting understanding and awareness of the conference center industry and to providing member properties with the tools necessary to provide an exceptional meeting experience.
