Edgar Lozoya Named General Manager for the
Hilton Sedona Resort & Spa, Sedona, Arizona
SEDONA, Arizona, September 6, 2007 – Hilton Hotels Corporation recently announced that Edgar Lozoya has been named as the new General Manager for the Hilton Sedona Resort & Spa. Lozoya will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operation of the 219-room resort hotel with a luxury spa, fitness facility, restaurants and meeting facilities in the beautiful Red Rock Country.
“With Edgar’s expertise in the hotel industry, he will ensure our guests receive the best product and services possible,” stated Ben Fusco, area vice president, Hilton Resorts and Hotels – Southwest. “His knowledge and leadership abilities will direct the property to surpass our quality assurance and financial goals.”
Lozoya is certainly not a stranger to the hotel and resort business. For the past two years, he has been the General Manager of the Embassy Suites Hotel & Casino in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Prior to that, he held the same position at the Embassy Suites Dorado del Mar Beach & Golf Resort, also in Puerto Rico, for three years. Lozoya began his hospitality career over 21 years ago in the Southwest. After studying hospitality, restaurant and tourism at the University of Texas in Houston, he joined the Hilton Family of Brands in 1988, where he held management positions at the Hampton Inn – Dallas, TX; Embassy Suites Market Center – Dallas, TX; Holiday Inn – Palmdale, CA; and Red Lion Hotel - Sacramento, CA.
Throughout his career, Lozoya has placed significant emphasis in continued education and community involvement. These values have led to many ongoing Hilton and industry certifications. In 1997, Lozoya received the title of General Manager of the Year – AZ Region for La Quinta Inn & Suites. In addition, he received his real estate certification in Arizona, while completing timeshare sales and marketing training.
