Providenciales, Turks & Caicos Island, BWI - (September 21, 2007) - Duncan MacArthur and Jeffrey Boland have been named as Managing Director and Director of Operations, respectively, for the new Seven Stars Resort on Providenciales in the Turks & Caicos Islands, BWI. The property's 81 one- to four-bedroom suites and penthouses will open July 2008 on famed Grace Bay Beach. MacArthur's appointment was made by Jak Civre, President of the Sodalco Development Co., Ltd. and Boland was named by MacArthur, who also appointed Grace's Distinctive Properties Ltd. as travel trade sales and marketing representatives for the US and Canada. MacArthur brings over 30 years' hospitality industry skills to his position. He began his Caribbean experience in 1995 as General Manager at Halcyon Cove, Antigua. Since then, he has held general manager or resort director positions at Swept Away Resort, Negril, Jamaica; Royal Westmoreland, Barbados; and Point Grace, Turks & Caicos Islands He also was Operations Director at the Sunset Beach resort in Saudi Arabia from 2002-2003 and Resident Manager at the Sheraton Lagos Hotel and Towers in Nigeria from 1992-1995. MacArthur began his hospitality career in London with Intercontinental Hotels and ITT Sheraton. As Director of Operations at Seven Stars, Boland is responsible for the resort and property management. He has over 15 years of hospitality industry experience, most recently, since 2003, as Assoc. VP for Colliers International Hotels and Advisory Group in Toronto. From 1994-1998 Boland was with SunSwept Resorts in the Caribbean as Resident/House Manager and part of the opening team at LaSource, Grenada. From 1998-2002, he was Resident Manager and promoted to General Manager at Couples Swept Away Resort, Montego Bay, in his native Jamaica.
Grace's Distinctive Properties, led by Grace Grillo who has 18 years' travel industry experience, has been named liaison for sales and marketing with the travel trade community. Founded in 2003, the firm specializes in luxury hotels and resorts and serves as a direct link for communication and coordination between Seven Stars and travel agents and tour operators.
