Renaissance Waverly Hotel, Atlanta, Georgia ATLANTA (June 29, 2007) � The Renaissance Waverly Hotel, northwest Atlanta�s only AAA Four-Diamond convention hotel, has named Joseph �Joe� Uhl as its new general manager. In this role, Uhl is responsible for a team of more than 400 full-time associates and the success of the hotels day to day operations. For more than 20 years, the Waverly Hotel has been known as Cobb County�s crown jewel and offers a balance of functionality and service that combines traditional Southern hospitality with contemporary New South style. Earlier this year, the property completed a renovation to its meeting facilities, restaurant and lounge, spa and public areas. Uhl is a 27-year veteran with Marriott International, and brings a broad range of industry experience to his new role. Most recently, he was for eight years the area general manager for the St. Louis market, where he was responsible for 11 corporate-managed and 12 franchised hotels. Prior to that, he was the area general manager for the Detroit market. Uhl also has served as human resources director, resident manager and in various operational management positions with Marriott hotels since joining the company in 1980. He has received Marriott Corp.�s Living the Vision and the Market Management Innovation awards. Uhl served as chairman of the Marriott Business Councils in Detroit and St. Louis and served as president of the St. Louis Area Hotel Association. About the Waverly Renaissance Hotel
