New Edition of Hospitality Today Textbook Now Available

LANSING, Mich., July 2007�The American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute (EI) has published the sixth edition of the best-selling textbook, Hospitality Today: An Introduction, written by Rocco M. Angelo, CHA, and Andrew N. Vladimir, CHE.  
            
The hardcover textbook includes full-color photos and images throughout that showcase the excitement and diversity of today�s hospitality industry. About the authors: 

Rocco M. Angelo, CHA, is the associate dean of the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management at Florida International University, where he has held the Ellsworth M. Statler Professorship since 1993.  Prior to joining FIU, he was a manager of Laventhol & Horwath�s Management Advisory Services division in New York City, where he was responsible for supervising and conducting economic feasibility studies, operation and control analyses for hotels and restaurants, and tourism studies in the United States, Canada, and the Caribbean. He has managed a private club/hotel and worked in various management positions with ARAMARK and Loews Hotels.  He is a Certified Hotel Administrator.
            
Andrew N. Vladimir, CHE, is an internationally-recognized marketing consultant and an associate professor emeritus at the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management at Florida International University. Before joining FIU�s faculty, he served as director of tourism for the government of Bermuda, the only non-Bermudian ever to hold that post.  Vladimir has spent most of his career in the marketing and advertising business, with a special emphasis on hospitality, travel, and tourism. His clients have included McDonald�s, Sonesta Hotels, Loews Hotels, Resorts International, Delta Airlines, Air France, and TravAlaska Tours. In addition to holding senior management positions with some of America�s best advertising and public relations agencies, he has headed his own agencies in Puerto Rico, Florida, and Washington; and owned two travel agencies.   He holds the professional designation of Certified Hospitality Educator.
