Robert J. Lowe, Jr. Named President and Chief Operating Officer
of Lowe Hospitality Group

 
LOS ANGELES - August 22, 2007 - Lowe Enterprises, a national real estate development, investment and management firm, has named Robert J. Lowe, Jr. president and chief operating officer of Lowe Hospitality Group, the firm�s national hotel, resort and resort residential community acquisition, development and management division. 

�Rob has made a tremendous contribution to the expansion and success of our hospitality development activities,� said John B. Platt, III, CEO of Lowe Hospitality Group. �He is an outstanding leader as well as an accomplished professional who will guide Lowe Hospitality Group well through this unprecedented period of growth as the firm�s development and operating teams work together on increasingly large and complex assignments.� 

Mr. Lowe joined Lowe Enterprises in 1992 and was named president of Lowe Destination Development (LDD) in 2003 and will continue in this position in addition to his new role with Lowe Hospitality Group. 

Under his leadership of LDD, the firm�s resort and resort residential development activities have grown to its current $2 billion in projects underway nationwide. Current projects include the 102-acre Terranea Resort in the Los Angeles area community of Rancho Palos Verdes; the 1,040-acre Grizzly Ranch in Portola, Calif.; the 700-acre Stone Eagle Golf Club in Palm Desert, Calif.; the 600-room SilverRock Resort in La Quinta, Calif.; the 136-unit Stowe Mountain Lodge in Vermont; and the 6,000-acre Suncadia project near Roslyn, Wash. 

Completed projects include the development of the 210-room Estancia La Jolla Hotel and Conference Center in La Jolla, Calif.; the redevelopment of the historic Hotel Del Coronado; and the development of the Reserve, an award-winning master planned community in Indian Wells, Calif. 

Lowe Hospitality Group�s hotel operation division, Destination Hotels & Resorts, with 30 independent, luxury and upscale hotels, resorts and golf clubs, is one of the largest independent hospitality management companies in the country with more than 7,000 guest rooms in its portfolio. 

Mr. Lowe completed his undergraduate studies at Stanford University and earned his MBA from the Anderson School at the University of California at Los Angeles. He is a resident of Pacific Palisades.
