Mariann Aherne and Craig J. Troxell Named Respectively General Manager
and Director of Sales for the Premiere Hotel and Suites
in New Haven, Connecticut
New Haven CT (May 4, 2007) - The Saunders Hotel Group, LLC has named Mariann Aherne as the General Manager and Craig J. Troxell as Director of Sales for the Premiere Hotel and Suites at 3 Long Wharf Drive in New Haven. An affiliate of Saunders Hotel Group recently purchased the hotel and has announced plans for a $3.5 million renovation.

Mariann Aherne joins Saunders as the General Manager of the Premiere Hotel and Suites after five years as the Regional and General Manager at the Fairfield Inn by Marriott. Ms Aherne has over 30 years experience in the hospitality field and has worked for and with many companies and corporations such as Marriott, Hilton, West Coast Hotels, Red Lion Hotels, Comfort Inn, Days Inn, Paramount Hotel Group, Waterford Hotel Group and Northwest Hospitality Group. In addition she owned her own restaurant for 8 years.

Craig J. Troxell joins the Premiere Hotel and Suites as Director of Sales with more than eight years experience in the Greater New Haven, CT hotel market. Prior to joining Saunders, he worked for Schafer Hotel Properties as a Corporate Director of Sales and Marketing and with Paramount Hotel Group as a Regional Director of Sales. Mr. Troxell's 24 year hospitality career in sales and marketing includes stints with Sheraton Corporation, Oakwood Corporate Housing, Embassy Suites, West Coast Hotels, Hampton Inn, Candlewood Suites, Holiday Inn, Northwest Hospitality Group, Schafer Hotel Properties and Paramount Hotel Group.

The Premiere Hotel and Suites, the only all-suite, extended stay hotel within 10 miles of City Center New Haven and Yale University, incorporates 112 spacious suites in studio and penthouse, one- or two-bedroom configurations, many with separate living and dining areas. Thirty of the hotel's suites are 1,200 square foot two-bedroom penthouse suites. The 82 one-bedroom suites offer 600 square feet of space. All suites have fully equipped kitchens, breakfast bars, working fireplaces, cable TV with HBO, comfortable beds, spacious bathrooms and a workspace area with high speed Internet access. The renovations will upgrade the suites with new furnishings, new bathroom detailing including granite countertops, refreshed kitchen facilities and will replace all televisions with 37 inch high-def LCD flat-panel units in all suites.
