Larkspur, Calif. Larkspur Chairman and CEO Karl Hoagland says of these important hires, I am thrilled to bring such qualified and experienced individuals to our team. Their extensive knowledge and expertise of their respective markets adds a great deal of strength to our company, he said. We look forward to working with them to meet our goal of not only expanding the Larkspur family of hotels, but also of ensuring an exemplary hotel experience for all of our guests.

Michael Lennon has been appointed to the new position of Managing Director, San Francisco hotels. Michael, who recently served as General Manager of the four-star Meritage Resort at Napa, will now assume General Manager duties at The Villa Florence Hotel.  Michael will also oversee the operations of The Cartwright Hotel and Monticello Inn.  Michael will lead a complete repositioning of Larkspurs three San Francisco-based hotels, a task that calls for major renovations and enhanced quality levels at each property.  Michaels diverse backgroundhe was named the Omni Hotels and Resorts Executive of the Year in 2003 for outstanding work as Hotel Manager of the Omni Hotel in San Francisco, a position preceded by management positions with Kimpton Hotels and a degree from the world-renowned The Culinary Institute of Americawill help him lead his team through the exciting repositioning ahead.

Jeff Durkin has been named General Manager of the Monticello Inn in San Francisco.  Jeff moves over from the Larkspur Landing Pleasanton, where he served in the same role.  Durkin played an influential role in Larkspurs acquisition last year of The Belamar Hotel in Manhattan Beach, an undertaking for which he made important contributions vital to the hotels initial performance.  While in his position in Pleasanton, Jeff proved invaluable to the Larkspur team as he also served as interim General Manager at The Lodge at Tiburon.  Jeffs leadership skills and hands-on mentality will allow him to thrive in his new position that calls for integrating Larkspur programs into the Monticello Inn during a time of major renovations.

Joey DeLeon joins Larkspur as Area Director of Sales, San Francisco, responsible for the companys three Union Square hotels , The Villa Florence Hotel, The Cartwright Hotel and Monticello Inn. DeLeon brings with her eighteen years experience in the local hospitality industry, including a decade with Intercontinental Hotel Group and most recently as Area Director of Sales and Marketing for Kimpton Hotels and Restaurants.

Michaela Winn joins the Larkspur team at The Lodge at Tiburon, where she is the new General Manager. Across the Bay from San Francisco, the 102-room California Craftsman-style upscale lodge reopened in late June 2006 after a $6.5 million renovation. Michaela has a strong background in luxury resorts and leisure markets, as well as extensive leadership in sales, marketing and public relations. Michaela was previously the Director of Sales and Marketing for the four-star Hotel Hana-Maui and Honua Spa in Maui, Hawaii.  Her insiders knowledge of high-end leisure markets and corporate retreat segments will prove invaluable in helping Larkspur achieve its goals for the Lodge at Tiburon.

Gregory Martinez is the new Director of Sales and Marketing at The Lodge at Tiburon. Martinez is well-versed to excel as a Director of Sales and Marketing with Larkspur, considering his notable expertise in hospitality that includes management positions at prestigious Bay area hotels including Director of Sales & Marketing, Doubletree Hotel & Executive Meeting Center, Berkeley Marina and Area Director of Sales & Marketing for The San Francisco Bay Hotel Collection, San Francisco, California.
