WA, May 3, 2007 - John Stoddard has been appointed as the new General
Manager for the recently opened Pan Pacific Seattle, according to Steve
Halliday, Vice Chairman of Pan Pacific Hotels and Resorts North America.
Stoddard assumed his position on
April 18, 2007. According to Halliday, "We are pleased to welcome John to the Pan Pacific Hotels and Resorts family. He has the extensive experience and appropriate skill set to create great success for this new property and is an accomplished hotelier with vast knowledge of the hotel industry." Mr. Stoddard was General Manager for the Wilshire Grand Hotel & Centre in Los Angeles, California since 1998, where he was responsible for all operations of the 900-room convention hotel and 165,000 square feet of office building space as well as managing the Waikiki Resort Hotel in Honolulu, Hawaii. Prior to working with the above-mentioned self-managed, independent hotels, Stoddard was General Manager for Park Lane Hotels International's Parc Fifty Five Hotel in San Francisco, California from 1992 to 1998. Starting his career in the hospitality industry in 1974, Stoddard also held several management positions for the following properties: San Francisco Marriott, San Francisco, California; San Francisco Airport Marriott, Burlingame, California; Lincolnshire Resort Marriott, Lincolnshire, Illinois; Harrah's Hotel and Casino, Stateline, Neveda; Hyatt Lake Tahoe Hotel & Casino, Incline Village, Nevada; Hyatt Regency San Francisco, California; and Seattle Hyatt House, Seattle, Washington. A graduate of Washington State University, with a Bachelors of Arts in Hotel Administration, Stoddard served in the United States Marine Corps and is a Vietnam veteran. A native of Aberdeen, Washington, Stoddard looks forward to returning to Washington with his wife Margaret.
