Jon D. Kline, Stepping Down
SAN CLEMENTE, Calif., May 23, 2007 - Sunstone
Hotel Investors, Inc. (NYSE: SHO) announced today that Jon D. Kline, President,
will leave the company effective June 30, 2007, to pursue other business
opportunities.
"Jon has contributed significantly to Sunstone
over the last four plus years," said Steve Goldman, Chief Executive
Officer. "During his tenure as Chief Financial Officer, and most recently
as President, Jon helped take the company public and establish it as a
meaningful hotel REIT. He is also responsible for bringing in many of the
talented people that make up the core bench strength of our company," continued
Goldman. "He made a strong contribution to Sunstone's business strategy
and has been a valued member of the management team. I want to thank Jon
for his service to Sunstone and wish him the best in his future endeavors."
"Going forward, the four key disciplines -- Capital
Investment, Finance, Operations and Legal -- will report directly to me,
clarifying the lines of accountability and allowing me to be integrally
involved in the operation of our business," said Goldman.
