FORT LAUDERDALE - June 18, 2007 - Regent Hotels & Resorts, a global leader in luxury hospitality, has named Chauncey M. Copeland as general manager for The Regent South Beach. The first hotel to open in Miami's Art Deco district in 20 years, The Regent South Beach is a luxury boutique hotel with an innovative edge. The hotel is located on one of Miami's most vibrant boulevards between Collins Avenue and Ocean Drive.

With 20 years of experience in hotel management, Chauncey brings extensive knowledge of luxury hotels having served at world-class properties such as The Plaza Hotel, The Carlyle Hotel and Wyndam International's Bonaventure Resort and Spa and Grand Bay Hotel. Most recently, he served as hotel director at the exclusive Fisher Island Hotel and Resort on a private island off the coast of Miami Beach. He has managed a number of Florida properties, including The Palm Aire Resort and Spa and The Beach House Hotel, and was part of the management team for The Grand Bay Hotel. Chauncey graduated cum laude from the State University of New York.

The Regent South Beach features 80 deluxe guest rooms, each with a 200-square-foot balcony (the largest on Ocean Drive). A signature hotel feature is its 27 rooftop terrace suites, each with a 700-foot balcony and Roman hot tub, a retractable roof, wet bar, stereo system and facilities for sunning, dining, entertaining and spa treatments. The hotel is known for its fabulous dining at Table 8 South Beach with celebrity chef Govind Armstrong, and innovative service offerings such as The Regent Pocket Butler (for off-site service), car turndown and "car-sitting" service. Another special feature is the pool with a series of four inset �viewing' windows located above a subterranean bar. 

The exterior of The Regent South Beach, designed by celebrity design firm Arquitectonica, has a bold, sophisticated contemporary design with a cubist-like façade. The interior, designed by Lynn Wilson Associates, is elegant and sumptuous with dark mahogany furniture, delicate sand-tone fabrics, oversized beds and plush seating. Floor-to-ceiling windows and glass balconies, set off by authentic Jerusalem marble floors, create a sense of light and space in keeping with the Miami setting. Wilson's design serves as a comfortable, relaxing backdrop to the city's bright colors and energized atmosphere. Rooms are also equipped with Regent's trademark luxury bathroom facilities.
