News for the Hospitality Executive |
Public Park in Virginia . Part of Hometown Hospitality - Caring For Communities Initiative
The Woodlands (Houston), Texas, June 2007 - Over 150 executives from 20 Benchmark Hospitality International properties volunteered time and muscle on a cool morning recently, to clean up Claude Moore Park, a public park in Sterling, Virginia. The executives were attending a national sales meeting at the company's east coast flagship, Lansdowne Resort, located near Leesburg, Virginia. The clean-up was part of Benchmark's Hometown Hospitality - Caring For Our Communities initiative. "Benchmark believes that our properties, our people and our vision can make a difference in the lives of many around the globe," stated Sam Haigh, president and participant in the clean up project. "When presented with the park's needs, we were thrilled to be able to respond." "We were so appreciative of the Benchmark Hospitality team for their
assistance with this clean-up," said Mary Breed, park manager at Claude
Moore. "We were able to tackle projects in a few hours that normally would
have taken us months and significant expense to complete. It was
a great day for the park and the community."
