Alex Ahluwalia Appointed General Manager and Matt Brody as
Director of Sales and Marketing at JW Marriott Starr Pass
Resort & Spa, Tucson, Arizona


Tucson, Arizona (June 13, 2007) JW Marriott Starr Pass Resort & Spa announces the appointment of Alex Ahluwalia as general manager and Matt Brody as director of sales and marketing. Together, Ahluwalia and Brody possess more than 45 years of luxury hotel experience, heralding a new era of luxury and service for the renowned property. 

Prior to his appointment at Starr Pass, Alex Ahluwalia served as general manager of the JW Marriott Fiji Resort & Spa at Momi Bay, where he was responsible for the opening and operation of the 320-room resort, destination spa, PGA-spec golf facilities and seven restaurants and bars. He has also served as general manager of the Renaissance Wailea Beach Resort in Maui and director of operations at the Marriott Maui Resort and Ocean Club. Ahluwalia holds a Hotel Administration Diploma from the School of Hotel Technology at Bermuda College. 

Before arriving at Starr Pass, Matt Brody served as the director of sales and marketing for both the Renaissance Grand and Renaissance St. Louis Suites hotels in St. Louis, Missouri.  He has also held various positions with the Walt Disney Company�including sales director positions at the Coronado Springs Resort, Yacht Club Resort, Beach Club Resort and Vero Beach Resort.  Brody sits on the board of directors for Meeting Professionals International (MPI) and participates in numerous industry organizations. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management.
