Aqua Hotels & Resorts Makes Management Appointments
Alvida Surpia Named General Manager of the
Aqua Coconut Plaza, Honolulu, Hawaii
WAIKIKI BEACH, Hawaii -- June 4, 2007 - Aqua Hotels & Resorts is pleased to announce the following appointments to their management team.  The appointments are comprised of new hires and promotions within the organization.
Alvida Surpia - General Manager of the Aqua Coconut Plaza
Most recently general manager of Aqua Bamboo & Spa, Surpia was named general manager of the 80-room Aqua Coconut Plaza.  She will oversee overall operations of the property including its upcoming renovation process.  Prior to joining Aqua, Surpia held management positions with Ala Moana Hotel and King George Hotel in San Francisco.  She has a Bachelor of Arts degree from of San Francisco State University.
Courtnay Koski – Hotel Manager of the Aloha Surf
Koski comes to Aqua Hotels from Hersha Hospitality in Boston where she was Director of Sales & Marketing.  She also worked at Wyndham Hotels and Starwood Hotels (in Hawaii).  As hotel manager, Koski will be responsible for the day-to-day functions of Aqua Aloha Surf and work closely with the general manager.  Koski received her degree in Travel Industry Management from the University of Hawaii.
Dawn Sakaue – Guest Services Manager of the Aqua Palms & Spa
As Guest Services Manager, Sakaue insures that the highest standard of quality service is provided to guests staying at Aqua Palms & Spa.  She oversees Guest Services Agents as well as the Bell staff.  Immediately prior to joining Aqua Hotels, Sakaue was Talent Coach/Manager-on-Duty for W Honolulu Diamond Head Hotel.  She has her Associate’s Degree and is a 2008 bachelor’s degree candidate in business management from the University of Hawaii.  Sakaue is a current Collegiate All-American Scholar, President of the UH-Kap Alumni and Friends Assn., Dean’s List honoree and former Student Body President of UH-Kapiolani.
Joy Adler-Jewitt – AquaSPA Manager
In this newly-created position, Adler-Jewitt oversees the spa operations and spa staff at facilities located at Aqua Bamboo & Spa and Aqua Palms & Spa. Adler-Jewitt returns to Aqua Hotels where she was previously Night Manager for the Aqua Bamboo & Spa.  Most recently, however, Adler-Jewitt was with The Kahala Hotel as Front Desk Supervisor.

Aqua was founded in 2001 by Hawaii hotelier Mike Paulin to manage and operate hotels and hotel-condominiums in Hawaii.  In 2005, the company introduced Aqua Boutique Hotels, a select group of properties responding to the sense of style and attitude of today’s sophisticated traveler.  In 2006, Aqua Lite, representing the company’s value product, was added.  In the fall of 2007, the first Aqua Elite hotel will be unveiled. Currently, Aqua’s chain-wide inventory of 10 properties is located exclusively in Waikiki.
