Pittsburgh, PA., April 11, 2007 - It was a proud moment
in time for Ron Antonucci, General Manager at the Pittsburgh Marriott North
at Cranberry Woods. The highly respected industry leader was named General
Manager of the year during the 2007 Marriott International Global Conference
held recently in San Francisco, CA, where 343 Marriott Hotels & Resorts
throughout the U.S. were represented. President and Chief Operating
Officer of Marriott International North America Lodging Operations, Robert
J. McCarthy made the official presentation.
The General Manager of the Year is awarded to a General Manager who demonstrates exemplary and courageous leadership throughout the year, while consistently being a role model of professional expertise, innovation and high achievement. "Ron's outstanding leadership over the past four years, combined with his innovative thinking and ongoing dedication to his community, team members, clients and guests have masterfully moved this prized hotel to another level," stated Mike Conway, senior vice president of marketing, Winegardner & Hammons, Inc., and the hotel's management company. Antonucci is a 30-year hospitality veteran and holds a B.S. Degree in Business from Robert Morris College in Chicago, IL and an MBA degree from Waynesburg College in Waynesburg, PA. He is currently a member of the Butler Chamber of Commerce, Cranberry Township Chamber of Commerce and the Cranberry Rotary. He also sits on the Board of Directors for the Pittsburgh Hotel Association and the Regional Learning Alliance. The 295-room, Pittsburgh Marriott North, a winner of the 2005 Marriott International Hotel of the Year was in the spotlight again at the 2007 conference, taking top national awards for excellence in the following categories:
