Franchisee of the Year |
ATLANTA (April 23, 2007) - Jett Mehta, President of Pittsford, NY-based Indus Companies has been named the Microtel Inns & Suites 'Franchisee of the Year,' an honor presented to the franchisee who best represents the Microtel brand. Microtel is the economy/budget all-new construction hotel brand with more than 300 hotels open and under construction around the U.S. and internationally. "It is significant that Microtel began with 22 hotels in Upper New York
State in the late 1980's, and this year's Franchisee of the Year has made
his mark with travelers throughout that same region," said Roy E. Flora,
Chief Operating Officer for Atlanta-based U.S. Franchise Systems Inc.,
franchisor of the Microtel brand. Microtel was founded in 1988 when
Loren Ansley, President of Hudson Hotels Corp, formulated his concept by
building a Microtel model single room in his garage in Rochester, NY.
Mehta serves as an elected member of the Microtel Franchise Advisory Council to support the continued growth and expansion of the brand. A lifelong resident of Pittsford, NY, he is also a multi-unit franchisee of Ponderosa Steakhouse, Dunkin' Donuts and Baskin' Robbins. He received Dunkin Donuts' "Rising Star Award" in 2006 and is a member of the Cattaraugus-Allegany Workforce Investment Board and DBI Development Advisory Steering Committee.
