The
Woodlands (Houston), Texas, April 6, 2007 - Benchmark Hospitality International
has announced the appointment of John E. Connor as financial controller
for the leading hospitality management company. Dennis Blyshak, chief
financial officer, made the announcement. Mr. Connor will be based
at the company's Home Office, located near Houston.
"We welcome John to Benchmark Hospitality," said Mr. Blyshak. "He brings 20 years of solid financial experience at all levels within the hospitality industry and is a great addition to our team." John Connor was previously the controller for Zermatt Resort & Spa of Midway, Utah, where he was responsible for all financial, accounting and purchasing operations of the conference center resort. He also served as part of the pre-opening team for the property. Prior to this position, Connor was controller for the Houston Marriott Greenpoint and served in the same role for the Radisson DFW South of Dallas. He began employment in the Dallas market as the director of accounting for Hospitality Management Corporation. He was also previously the controller for the Radisson Penn Harris Hotel of Camp Hill, Pennsylvania. Mr. Connor has served in executive management for Matrix/Ashbourne Associates LP of Cheltenham, Pennsylvania, in the role of controller. Additionally, he was senior accountant for Intelligent Electronics of Exton, Pennsylvania, which was a brief foray outside the sphere of hospitality. Earlier in his career, Connor served as controller and information systems manager for the Daufuskie Club (then known as The Melrose Club) of Hilton Head, South Carolina. Prior to this, he was income auditor for the Marriott Hilton Head Resort. John Connor is a graduate of Savannah State College of Savannah, Georgia, with a Bachelors degree in Accounting and Management of Information Systems. He graduated Magna Cum Laude. In the early 1980s, Connor served in the United States Armed Forces, stationed in Spangdahlem AB, Germany and Fort Bragg, North Carolina. He has relocated to The Woodlands with his family.
