Fairmont Promotes Andrea Torrance and Karl Pinault to New
Vice-President Roles For Rooms and Design & Construction

TORONTO, March 8, 2007 - In moves that will further enhance its management capabilities, Fairmont Hotels & Resorts is pleased to announce the promotions of two key company executives. Advancing within Fairmont�s Corporate ranks are Andrea Torrance who has been named Vice President, Rooms and Karl Pinault who has risen to the role of Vice President, Design & Construction.

While augmenting the company�s operations, these moves also provide added leadership and expertise as the company executes its aggressive plan to grow the Fairmont portfolio.

In her new role, Torrance, who brings over 20 years of hospitality experience to her new position, will continue to be a core member of Fairmont�s operations team.  With a passion for travel, Torrance first began her career with England-based Forte Hotels.  Following this, she also held various roles of increasing responsibility with Hilton International and The Mark Hotel - Rafael Group, before her arrival at Fairmont in 2000.   Most recently, Torrance served as Fairmont�s Executive Director, Rooms.

Also taking on a greater degree of responsibility is Karl Pinault who has been elevated to the role of Vice President, Design & Construction.  In his new capacity, Pinault will continue to oversee capital projects in North America and Europe, while also taking on the added duties of supporting the brand�s European acquisitions and brand repositioning projects. Pinault first joined Fairmont in 1988 as Project Manager and was soon promoted to Director, Design & Construction. Most recently, he held the position of Executive Director, Design & Construction.
