SIOUX FALLS, SD, January
4, 2007 LodgeNet Entertainment
Corporation (NASDAQ: LNET), the worlds largest provider of interactive
television and broadband solutions to the lodging industry, today announced
its list of top 10 movies for guest
entertainment in 2006. LodgeNet serves over 6,000 hotel properties
worldwide giving approximately 300 million travelers access to hundreds
of titles during their stay in 2006. These were the most viewed video
on demand Hollywood movies in properties served by LodgeNet during the
year:
Fox combines a great variety of excellent films
with perfectly-timed release dates for travelers throughout the year,
said William M. Coleman, Vice President Studio Relations and Film Licensing
Worldwide for LodgeNet. Walk the Line, which opened in hotels January
15th, was a hit at the boxoffice and in hotels thanks to Foxs strategy
of releasing many of its films in mid-month when guests are looking for
some new choices. Ice Age was an ideal film for the whole family that
Fox made available to LodgeNets hospitality clients at the beginning of
the summer travel season only eight weeks after it premiered in theaters.
Likewise, Fox offered the mid-summer hit The Devil Wears Prada to sophisticated
hotel audiences in time for the fall travel cycle. Coleman also
noted that Fox develops customized promos for its films that appeal to
hospitality guests and attract a wider pay-per-view audience.
