MIAMI (January 16, 2007) The Holiday Inn SunSpree® Resort Montego Bay, Jamaica, now considered one of the Caribbeans greatest rediscovered gems, was presented with InterContinental Hotel Groups (IHG) prestigious annual Renovation Award at the 2006 Americas Investors and Leadership Conference in Toronto. Mark Snyder, Vice President Holiday Inn Brand, presented the award to Guillermo Valencia, Regional Director of Operations, Caribbean and former General Manager of Holiday Inn SunSpree® Resort Montego Bay, Jamaica, who is overseeing the hotel renovation.

The Renovation Award is given to hotels within the IHG portfolio that warrant special recognition for having successfully completed major modernization and renovation programs during the past year.  Hotels must have completed a renovation of exterior, commercial areas and/or guest rooms to have qualified for this award.

We are honored to have received this award on behalf of the Holiday Inn SunSpree Resort Jamaica, says Guillermo Valencia, regional director of operations, Caribbean - InterContinental Hotels Group. The hotels exquisite renovations are a testament to its owners dedication to be the very best.

The 524-guestroom all-inclusive family resort recently completed its first and second phase renovations.  The complete renovation of the 34-year-old property is slated for completion at the end of 2007. The renovations and expansions of the hotel are funded by its owners.

Our goal is to make our guests feel as comfortable as possible, continues Valencia. We want to ensure that our hotel continues to meet modern design and technology standards so that our guests can enjoy a relaxing stay on a majestical island.
