The Seattle Hotel Association Hoping to Top 2006 Fund Raiser Event
Gross of $670,000; The 53-member Association Has Raised
$3.1 million in its Ten-year History of Charitable Efforts
Feb. 10 gala to benefit first-time partner, Plymouth Housing Group

SEATTLE Jan. 10, 2007 Theyve planned, procured, and soon the 53-member Seattle Hotel Association (SHA) will unveil its tenth consecutive gala, packed with coveted auction items, high fashion, conviviality and an opulent dinner at its Evening of Hope, Gala on Feb. 10. This years event proceeds will benefit Plymouth Housing Group, a local non-profit devoted to transitioning Seattles homeless population into permanent housing and self-sufficiency.

The Seattle Hotel Associations gala, held in the Fairmont Olympic Hotels Spanish Ballroom (continuing with an after-party in the Garden Court), will be swathed in robins egg blue and butter cream-colored decor and table linens, setting the backdrop for a spectacular four-course dinner created by the Hotels Executive Chef Gavin Stephenson. The evenings silent and live auction packages bring food, wine, fashion and enviable trips to international locations, including Italy, Mexico, Jamaica, Ireland, South Africa, Vanuatu, and the Caribbean as well as domestic destinations, Florida, Hawaii, Jackson Hole and New York. Luxury hotel packages include a year of getaways to regional resorts, Inn at Langley, Friday Harbor House, Lakedale Resort and a Noble House Hotels package covering 10 hotels across the country.  Local hotels, including The Edgewater, Crowne Plaza, Mayflower Park, Grand Hyatt, Pan Pacific, Cave B, Alderbrook, Hotel 1000, the new Hotel Deca in the University District and many more have also answered the call for support.

Hoping to top last years event gross of $670,000, select live auction items include: dinners at award-winning regional restaurants with top-tier winemakers, including Three Rivers, Januik Winery, and Woodward Canyon; yacht cruises; Mariners and Sonics packages; a womens power lunch with top local CEOs, and shopping packages, including wardrobe consultations with presenting sponsor Escada, a year of shoes from Marios, and a shopping spree along 5th Avenue in New York City.  Also included are custom services such as interior design consultation with C&N Design Development and garden maintenance and consultation. Rounding out the list of procured items is an Evening of Hope event signature, a Vespa Scooter donated by Seattle Vespa, this year, packaged with the Sorrento Hotel and its outdoor Amalfi-inspired Café Palma and newly-remodeled Hunt Club.

Show-stopping fashion is always the standard at the Evening of Hope. During the pre-event cocktail reception, Marios will show its contemporary mens and womens fashions from top designers; Sway & Cake flaunts its latest womens looks; Turgeon Raine shines brilliantly with bejewelled models; and Gene Juarez Salons & Spas crowns it all with the latest looks in hair and makeup. Escada, a presenter of this years event, will show womens spring fashions on models throughout the auction.

Dan Brettler, C.E.O. of Car Toys, and his wife, Cindy, will be celebrated as this years Gala Honorees for their generosity and community service. The two have helped bring visibility to the serious condition of Seattles homeless population and have tirelessly served with organizations that work to end the cycle of homelessness in and around Seattle.

Evening of Hope co-chairs Paul Ishii, General Manager Mayflower Park Hotel and Rene Neidhart, General Manager Crowne Plaza Seattle, along with countless volunteers from the Seattle Hotel Association and Plymouth Housing Group, continue to help make this fundraiser a success. The 2007 event is presented by Escada and sponsored by Washington Mutual. Tickets, priced at $400 per person, are available by contacting Event Director Suzanne Hight at 206-236-6167.

Leveraging the collective strength of 53 downtown Seattle member hotels, the Association gathers an impressive roster of products, services and live auction items each year.  The Association has raised more than $3.1 million in its ten-year history of charitable efforts.
