WHITE PLAINS, NY, January 22, 2007�Gene Rupnik, president of Rupnik
Hospitality Management and owner of a Days Inn, Microtel Inn & Suites
and IHOP restaurant in Springfield, IL, has been appointed Chairman of
the Board of Directors for the 2007 International Hotel/Motel & Restaurant
Show® (IH/M&RS). Throughout the coming year, Rupnik will lead the
nine-member Board in developing the 92nd annual IH/M&RS, taking place
November 10-13, 2007, at New York City�s Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.
�Gene brings a wealth of industry knowledge to the table and has great insight on the needs of IH/M&RS attendees,� said Christian Falkenberg, show manager. �As we begin conceptualizing and developing the 2007 market, Gene�s background and long history with the Show will prove to be invaluable.� Rupnik is a long-time member of the American Hotel & Lodging Association, serving as chairman of the Association in 1995. He was named to the Board of Directors of the International Hotel/Motel & Restaurant Show in 2000, serving as chairman of the 86th annual IH/M&RS in 2001. In addition, Rupnik has held various board positions with the Hotel-Motel Association of Illinois, Springfield Hotel/Motel Association, Springfield Convention & Visitors Bureau and the Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce. The 92nd annual International Hotel/Motel & Restaurant Show will run Saturday, November 10, through Tuesday, November 13, 2007, at New York City�s Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. Following a full-day of conference and networking activities on Saturday, November 10, the IH/M&RS will feature three full days of exhibits from Sunday, November 11, through Tuesday, November 13. The market presents some 1,250 hospitality industry suppliers and attracts approximately 35,000 in total trade attendance. The International Hotel/Motel & Restaurant Show is sponsored by the American Hotel & Lodging Association, the Hotel Association of New York City, Inc., and the New York State Hospitality & Tourism Association; and is managed by George Little Management, LLC (GLM®). |
