Chris Ghita Named Assistant Manager at
Spice Island Beach Resort, Grenada
GRENADA (Jan.2, 2007) Spice Island Beach Resort in Grenada has promoted fellow employee Chris Ghita to the position of Assistant Manager responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operation of the upscale propertys Food and Beverage department.

I am particularly pleased that one of our own employees was able to rise to this challenging position and I warmly congratulate him, said Sir Royston O. Hopkin, KCMG, chairman and managing director of Spice Island Beach Resort.  Chris is a dedicated employee who has demonstrated his capabilities over the years, and his promotion exhibits our companys commitment to developing its most precious asset its valued staff members, he added.

Ghita joined Spice over 10 years ago as a hotel waiter and Head Bartender.  His experience in the industry spans from over a decade of extensive training in Sweden to the Ritz Carlton in Key Biscayne, Florida.

After the devastation and destruction of Hurricane Ivan in 2004, Ghita left Grenada to manage the Food and Beverage operation at the Village Hotel and Spa in St. Lucia.  After Spices elaborate $12 million renovation in 2005, Ghita returned to the resort to pursue the role of Administrative Assistant where he dedicated his time and effort into training the staff and enhancing the award-winning services offered at Spice Island Beach Resort.  His hard work and talent led him into earning the position of the new Assistant Manager.

Ghita will be in charge of running all operations at both Olivers Restaurant, Spices open-air, beach front restaurant serving Creole and international cuisine, as well as the Sea & Surf Bar, another beach side venue offering an a la carte lunch menu, fine wines, top-shelf liquor and special tropical drinks.  The chefs at Spice rely on local ingredients to create their delectable, island-inspired entrée choices, while the food and beverage staff strives to make sure that every detail of the guests dining experience is implemented to perfection.

An elegant, upscale hideaway located directly on 1,600 feet of palm-studded Grand Anse Beach, Spice Island Beach Resort in Grenada delivers a Caribbean vacation experience with an unmatched level of accommodations and unprecedented brand of chic style and timeless luxury.  Spice Island Beach Resort features 64 elegantly-appointed suites, the full-service Janissas Spa, a Cybex® fitness center, an open-air, beachside gourmet restaurant, the Sea & Surf Bar for refreshing cocktails throughout the day, a central swimming pool with swim-up whirlpool, an Omnicourt® tennis court, the Nutmeg Pod childrens activity center, the Gatsby Boutique and more.
