.
The Woodlands (Houston), Texas, January 8, 2007 - Benchmark Hospitality International has announced the appointment of Barbara Minch as director of human resources for The Heldrich, a new $110 million mixed use property being constructed in downtown New Brunswick, New Jersey.    Michael J. Taylor, CHA, CMP, general manager for the hotel, made the announcement.   Upon opening, Benchmark Hospitality will operate the property, which will include a 248-guestroom hotel, Christophers Restaurant & Bar, a state-of-the-art conference center, ballrooms and a spa.  The Heldrich is scheduled to open in March of 2007.

"I am very pleased to announce Barbara's appointment," said Mr. Taylor.  "She has been a vital member of our team as Benchmark's Human Resources Task Force member for The Heldrich, providing strong leadership and working with the Mayor's office on a unique local hiring initiative.  We're thrilled to have her as a permanent member of our executive staff."

Ms. Minch was previously Benchmark's director of human resources at North Maple Inn in Basking Ridge, New Jersey, a position she was appointed to in 2002.  In this role she was instrumental in helping create an employee base that won customer service awards year after year.  During her tenure, North Maple Inn garnered the Four Diamond Award  in 2005 and 2006 and was recognized by NJBIZ as one of the "50 Best Places to Work in New Jersey" for two consecutive years.  She also oversaw the development of the property's Culture Committee, which as part of the Benchmark Hometown Hospitality Caring for Our Communities initiative resulted in hundreds of hours of volunteer community service on behalf of employees.

Prior to joining the Benchmark organization, Ms. Minch was corporate director of human resources for RDC Golf Group, Inc., a professional golf management company based in Bedminster, New Jersey.  In this position, she oversaw the human resource operations of multiple golf and country clubs as well as 780 employees.

Ms Minch also held positions of increasing responsibility within the human resources department for Forsgate Country Club, culminating in her appointment as director.  Forsgate is located in Monroe Township, New Jersey, and was operated by Benchmark Hospitality from 1984 to 1995.    Ms. Minch resides in South Amboy, New Jersey.

The Heldrich is located in the heart of New Jersey in New Brunswick.  The property is situated at 10 Livingston Avenue, just west of the important US Route 1 business corridor stretching from Princeton to New Brunswick and near the Northeast Corridor train service (Boston-New York-Washington, DC) and Exit 9 of the NJ Turnpike.  It is 30 minutes outside New York City and has rail service to Newark Liberty International Airport.

The $110 million, mixed-use facility includes a hotel and conference center to be anchored by the John J. Heldrich Center for Workforce Development, at Rutgers University's Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy.  The Heldrich represents a unique partnership among the New Brunswick Development Corporation (Devco), Keating Partners, Rutgers, New Jersey Department of Labor, New Jersey Redevelopment Authority, New Jersey Economic Development Authority, New Jersey Casino Redevelopment Authority, the Middlesex County Improvement Authority and the City of New Brunswick.  It is a major anchor to New Brunswick's downtown revitalization program.

Upon completion, The Heldrich will feature 248 deluxe guestrooms, including 14 suites, Christophers Restaurant and Bar, 25,000 square feet of special event and meeting facilities, including a ballroom, an amphitheater, boardroom, and 20 conference rooms accommodating from 10 -500 guests.  The mixed-use property will also feature 48 luxury condominiums, along with academic and retail space.

The Heldrich's Pre-opening Offices are situated on the 4th Floor of the Crossroads Theater at 7 Livingston Avenue in New Brunswick, directly across the street from the new hotel.  For more information on The Heldrich, call 732-729-4670 or visit www.theheldrich.com.
