Hilton Hotels Corporation and Millennium Holdings Ltd Sign Management
Agreement for 250 room Hilton in Dhaka, Bangladesh
Beverly Hills, California, 25 October 2006 - Hilton Hotels Corporation (NYSE: HLT) signed an agreement with Bangladesh-based property developer, Millennium Holdings Ltd., to manage a new Hilton in Dhaka, the capital and largest city of Bangladesh. The signing ceremony was held in Dhaka on 19 October. 

Scheduled to open in late 2009, the Hilton Dhaka will comprise 250 spacious bedrooms, 50 upscale residences and 6 contemporary food and beverage outlets, including 24-hour dining. The hotel will provide recreational amenities such as a health club, tennis courts and swimming pool. The hotel will boast extensive conference and banqueting facilities featuring state of art audio-visual and communications technology.

Koos Klein, President of Hilton International, Middle East and Asia Pacific stated, "Bangladesh's status as the garment manufacturing capital of the world is attracting increasing foreign investment and business travel to the country. As the commercial heart of the country, Dhaka is poised for rapid growth, economic development and growing tourism". 

Mr Klein continued, "Hilton is renowned for being among the first international 5-star hotel brands to enter cities around the world, and our agreement to manage a flagship hotel in Dhaka is no exception. The new Hilton Dhaka will offer tourists and business travelers first class amenities underpinned with our renowned service. The agreement with Millennium Holdings also marks another milestone in Hilton's ongoing expansion in Asia Pacific". 

Kazi Helal Ahmed, Chairman of Millennium Holdings Ltd, stated, "Dhaka's ongoing development is placing it on the map as a new must-see destination. We are delighted to have signed an agreement with Hilton Hotels to manage what will become the top hotel in the city when it opens in 2009". 

Hilton to Manage New Hotel In Dhaka, Bangladesh

The signing ceremony was officiated by Mr Guy Phillips, Vice President Development Asia & Pacific, Hilton Hotels Corporation and Mr Kazi Helal Ahmed, Chairman Millennium Holdings Ltd. 

The Hilton Dhaka will be located at the intersection of the main transportation routes to and from the central business district of Dhaka, in the Panthopath district. The site is 18 km from the Zia International Airport, which takes a 25 minute drive by car. 

The location is set within the heart of Dhaka's central business district, where the Bangladeshi government has plans to build a World Trade Centre complex and convention centre. Currently the site is a block away from the famous Bashundhara shopping centre, one of the largest malls in South Asia and also houses the Bangladesh Film Development Corporation. 

In addition to commercial interests, Bangladesh has a rich history reflected in some of the world's most beautiful ancient temples, mosques and architecture.
