Renaissance M Street Hotel to Open in Spring 2007

Washington, D.C. December 19, 2006 - Renaissance Hotels & Resorts, Marriott Internationals upscale, distinctive full-service brand, is pleased to announce that the new Renaissance M Street Hotel is scheduled to open in spring 2007, following a $25.2 million investment.  The hotel will undergo an official Renaissance flagging in February 2007. The 355-room hotel, located at the corner of M Street and New Hampshire Avenue, has undergone a total redesign of its guest rooms, meeting space, lobby, restaurant and bar.  The former Wyndham City Center Hotel, 1143 New Hampshire Avenue, N.W., was purchased by a joint venture, comprised of funds managed by Westbrook Partners, and an affiliate of Northview Hotel Group, LLC.

We expect that both visitors and the residents of Washington, D.C. will discover the Renaissance M Street Hotel as an escape to stylish accommodations; crisp, attentive service; distinctive meeting space and a contemporary restaurant that will feature exquisitely prepared regional dining, said Thom Puccio, Director of Sales & Marketing, Renaissance M Street Hotel.

The hotel's front desk will be redesigned to welcome guests with an inviting sense of arrival and the new Great Room with its lobby bar will provide a sophisticated retreat for business or pleasure. The hotels restaurant will be defined by its new American-Style Bistro concept and lead by Executive Chef Darren Anklam. And a new café proudly serving Illys coffee will be added to cater to local clientele, as well as hotel guests. In addition, an expanded fitness area will offer the newest, state-of-the-art equipment and a new Cardio Theater, featuring treadmills with personal viewing LCD screens.

The hotels guestrooms include the new 2007 Renaissance bedding package.  Replacing the traditional bedspread with down comforters nestled inside sheeted duvets, the bedding will feature 300-thread count, cotton rich sheets; a four inch mattress topper accented with decorative pillow shams; bolster and decorative bed throw and bed skirt. Rooms also include bedside iPod clock radio and all accommodations feature cordless, 2-line phones with data ports, high speed internet access (wireless is available), rotating work desk, ergonomic chairs, pay-per view movies, weekday newspaper delivery, complimentary in-room coffee, hairdryer, ironing board, and individual climate controls. Each room is also equipped with a wall mounted technology panel that allows guests to connect their iPods or MP3 players,  digital cameras, video cameras,  and laptops directly to the 32 HD plasma flat screen and hear their music and see their pictures. All guestroom safes also feature the ability to connect to internal laptop chargers in the in-room safes.

The meeting capabilities at the Renaissance M Street have experienced a complete re-birth, from the miles of fiber optic cabling serving guests most advanced technology needs to new audio and sound systems. We have taken the hotels meeting space from the 1980s into the present from color, to feel, to technological capability, explains Puccio. All carpeting, wall coverings, chairs, linens, fixtures and food and beverage accoutrements have been redesigned to embrace the Renaissance brand commitment to stylish design with whimsical patterns, rich colors and imaginative accents. New technology, such as fiber optic cabling, provides voice-over protocols for all phones (eliminating the need for telephone wire), wireless Internet access throughout the hotel and can accommodate a wide range of technological needs, from simplistic networking to comprehensive live-broadcasting connectivity. In addition, new sound systems throughout all meeting and ballrooms provide a clear, digital sound quality for improved events and conferences.

Located in the heart of the nations Capitol, the Renaissance M Street Hotel is situated within easy walking distance from National Mall and Georgetown, two Metro stations and is just 7 miles from Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport. In 2008 the hotel is planning further growth that will incorporate the adding two new guest room floors and a rooftop pool.
