LOS CABOS, Baja California, Mexico, December 11, 2006 Andres Araya, the Managing Director of Las Ventanas al Paraíso, A Rosewood Resort was named One of the Finest Hoteliers Worldwide of 2006 by The American Academy of Hospitality Sciences.

The award, which was the only one given out by AAHS this year, was presented to Mr. Araya at the AAHS 2006 Five Star Diamond Award Ceremony in Cannes, France, on Tuesday, December 5, 2006. The annual event brings together hoteliers from all parts of the world who are honored for their expertise and dedication to the hospitality industry.

Mr. Araya has 21 years of hospitality management experience at noted luxury hotels and resorts around the world. During his three years at Las Ventanas, he has not only sustained but continually enhanced its elite status as one of the worlds finest and most heralded resorts. He guided the resort to yet another Five Diamond rating in 2006, maintaining Las Ventanas leadership position as Bajas only Five Diamond property. Las Ventanas has made its mark as the amenities innovator in the ultra-upscale segment, and Mr. Araya has continued this hallowed tradition with such recent innovations as Cinema al Paraíso (private, luxury movie-screenings on the sand), an indulgent After-Dinner Bath menu, and Porsche Boxsters for guests to rent.

Nominees for the Five Star Diamond Awards are based on anonymous visits by members of international financial institutions, hospitality industry professionals and world travelers to evaluate the establishments. Nominations are then voted upon by The Academys board of internationally renowned trustees. The New York-based AAHS was formed in 1989.
