Riu Hotels & Resorts Preparing to Open its 12th Resort in Mexico, 
the 550 room Riu Vallarta in Puerto Vallarta

Mallorca, Spain (September 06, 2006) � In just about two short months, RIU will open its newest resort � Riu Vallarta � in Puerto Vallarta increasing its number of rooms in Mexico to 6,035. The 5-star Riu Vallarta will feature 550 deluxe guestrooms and suites, the All-Inclusive by RIU concept and the legendary personalized service for which the company is renowned. 

�We are currently putting the finishing touches on our newest resort in Mexico,� said Luis Riu, Chairman and owner of Riu Hotels & Resorts. �In the coming months, Riu Vallarta will open its doors affirming our deep commitment to this magical destination and offering our guests an even greater array of unique resort experiences to choose from in Mexico.� 

The 9-story waterfront hotel will be located on renowned Flamingo Beach within walking distance of RIU�s other popular resort in Puerto Vallarta, Riu Jalisco. This exceptional location is convenient to one of the finest 18-hole championship golf courses in the region � Flamingos Golf Club � and the popular downtown district. Riu Vallarta will feature innovative art deco-style architecture, stylish décor and a modern vibe perfectly suited to the wants and needs of young, fashion-forward travellers. Complete with 550 luxurious guestrooms, the Riu Vallarta will also offer several suites with their own private jacuzzi on the hotel�s upper terrace.

True to the All-Inclusive by RIU concept, guests on property will be able to appreciate 24-hour food and beverages as well as unlimited meals at five gourmet restaurants. Featuring Mexican and international cuisine, Don Rafael is the resort�s main restaurant and will offer hot and cold dishes, live cooking stations, a wide assortment of salads and fresh selections, a variety of desserts and special twice-a-week buffet theme evenings. Beyond that guests will also enjoy dinners at the resort�s theme restaurants. From a la carte selections at Sir George and Asian specialties at Nirvana to fresh fish and seafood at the Flamingo Playa restaurant and prime cuts of meat at the terrace Steakhouse, guests will encounter an array of culinary options certain to satisfy every palette. 

Riu Vallarta will also offer five bars each with a charm and character all their own. The Astoria lobby bar, La Boheme lounge bar, the Sports Bar, the Plaza bar and the Mezcal swim-up bar will all feature unlimited premium cocktails, domestic and international beers and a variety of other indulgences intended to quench any thirst. 

The resort will offer two swimming pools with integrated Jacuzzis, a children�s swimming pool, a play park, a mini-club, a fitness center, a sauna and a full-service spa featuring a variety of beauty treatments, salon services and massages. Riu Vallarta will also provide a complete activities program for adults and children, complimentary water sports including windsurfing, snorkelling and scuba lessons in the pool and concerts, theme shows and live performances in the evening. Famed Pachá nightclub will remain open until the wee hours of the morning giving guests the chance to literally dance the night away.
