CO � July 18, 2006 � With more than 30 years of industry experience and
a photographer�s eye for detail and vision, Neil Hastings aims to bring
a new perspective to the Mountain Lodge at Telluride as Director of Sales
& Marketing. Hastings will oversee all aspects of regional and
national sales and marketing efforts, including public relations, advertising,
sales and cooperative efforts with local tourism and resort entities.
Managed by Destination Hotels & Resorts, the Mountain Lodge at Telluride
is a 137-room property that features luxurious log-and-stone cabins, deluxe
condominiums and lodge rooms.
Prior to joining the Mountain Lodge at Telluride, Hastings held top positions at various world-class resort hotels including the Wyndham Peaks Resort & Golden Door Spa, Starwood Hotels and ITT Sheraton Corporation. While at the Wyndham Peaks in Telluride, Hastings managed sales and marketing efforts for both of their mountain resort properties and helped sustain combined room revenues of $12 million with total resort revenues of $24 million. Under his leadership, the sales and marketing team raised occupancy levels by 30 percent and increased RevPar by 15 percent. During his tenure at ITT Sheraton Corporation, which was acquired by
Starwood Hotels, Hastings held several senior management positions at various
properties including Walt Disney World Swam & Dolphin Resort, Sheraton
Tamarron Resort and Sheraton Steamboat Resort & Conference Center.
Notable accomplishments include booking in excess of 125 percent annual
individual and team goals at Walt Disney World Swam & Dolphin Resort
and increasing revenue for the Sheraton Tamarron Resort by 20 percent in
the four corners regional market.
When not at work, Hastings enjoys his long-time passion of landscape photography. An accomplished and award-winning photographer, his photos of the magnificent Rockies have been published in the Durango Magazine, Telluride Magazine, the Annual Telluride Calendar and as part of numerous advertising campaigns for previous employers. Most recently, his keen sense for photography earned him first place in the 2nd Annual Photography Exhibit �Images of Ouray County and the San Juan Mountains� competition. Hastings also takes full advantage of his surroundings and enjoys skiing, backpacking, whitewater river rafting and golfing solo or with his two teenage children.
