MARKSVILLE, LA - Officials at Paragon Casino Resort announced the appointment
of Marc Becker as the new Director of Convention Sales and Services.
Prior to his tenure with Paragon Casino Resort, Becker served as the Director
of Marketing for the Omni Royal Orleans Hotel, a luxury four-diamond convention
hotel in the heart of the French Quarter of New Orleans.
Becker was displaced after Hurricane Katrina and decided to move to
Lettsworth, La where he owns a historic home. Becker commented that
he �started looking for jobs outside of the New Orleans area and found
this position to be a perfect fit for him.�
�As Director of Convention Sales and Services, I will be preparing a marketing and sales action plan to proactively promote the meeting facilities of the current and new Mari Convention and Entertainment Center to the regional and national meetings industry,� continued Becker. Becker further mentioned that he is � looking forward to working with all the great Paragon associates that I�ve heard so much about, and who�ve helped me as a guest of the casino in the past.� Outside of work, Becker enjoys reading and playing with his five dogs. He is a long time member of the National Trust for Historic Preservation. Becker is also an active member of the Meeting Professionals Association International; a trade and professional group that educates and promotes the meetings and events industry. He also serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the Gulf States Chapter. Opened on June 3, 1994, Paragon Casino Resort is located on Highway
One in Marksville, La. It is a land-based facility currently undergoing
an expansion project which will result in a new luxury hotel, a spa, exercise
room, shopping atrium, three movie theaters, ballrooms, a new enlarged
Mari Convention and Entertainment Center, a new, larger buffet and expanded
meeting rooms. A new parking garage was recently constructed.
The entire project will be completed in December of 2007.
Currently Paragon has a 335-room hotel, a 72,120 square foot gaming floor offering approximately over 2,000 slot machines, 46 table games and a 9-table poker room. Among the resort�s other features include a 1,600-seat entertainment complex, six restaurants, a full-service RV resort, Kids Quest childcare activity center and a professional golf course. Paragon Casino Resort is owned and managed by the Tunica-Biloxi Tribe of Louisiana. |
