for Opening 90-100 Hotels in 2006, Opens 13 Hotels in July
MEMPHIS, Tenn., August 7, 2006—Hampton (www.hampton.com), the national brand of more than 1,350 mid-priced Hampton Inn® and Hampton Inn & Suites® hotels, has opened 13 properties in July 2006-- representing 1,239 new rooms. The new openings include five Hampton Inn hotels and eight Hampton Inn & Suites properties. The opening of 13 hotels this month helps the brand continue its incredible development strides and celebrate the opening of more than 10 hotels in a month for the third time this year.
“We are thrilled to see our brand continue to grow at such record pace,” said Phil Cordell, senior vice-president, Hampton Brand Management. “The opening of our 13 new properties this month will help us maintain our target for opening 90-100 hotels in 2006, and we still estimate that 2007 will be a record year for openings overall.
“Our Hampton Inn & Suites product maintains its growth as well, with the opening of eight Hampton Inn & Suites hotels this month, constituting 80 percent of all Hampton hotel openings in 2006,” added Cordell.
The next step for Hampton is the introduction of their new bedding package, featuring a crisp, white duvet cover, enveloping a plush comforter with 200-thread-count, white sheets and the guest’s choice of down or foam jumbo size pillows. The new bedding package will be available in all Hampton hotels by year end 2006.
