urban hotel successes 60 Thompson in New York and the Hollywood Roosevelt
in Hollywood, California, has announced that they will extend their popular
lifestyle experience to California�s Sonoma/Napa wine region when they
take over the management of the 23-room boutique Gaige House, one of Sonoma�s
best-kept secrets.
Stephen Brandman, partner in Thompson Hotels said, �Gaige House is a perfect complement to our hotels in New York and Los Angeles as these cities are key feeder markets to Sonoma/Napa wine country. Each hotel has a unique personality and contribute to a total Thompson experience.� Originally built in 1890, Gaige House (13540 Arnold Dr., Glen Ellen, California) is located on the edge of the Calabazas Creek in the rustic town of Glen Ellen, just 45 minutes from the Golden Gate Bridge and moments from the best wineries, restaurants and hiking trails in Sonoma and Napa Valley. The property sits on three acres of manicured lawns and an array of gardens. The property was renovated and expanded in 2005 by renowned designer Paul Davis, who transformed the historic interior into the elegant hotel it is today. The expansion included the addition of eight 600-square foot ultra-modern Luxury Suites, each featuring luxurious bedding, large soaking tubs, dual showers, fireplaces, private Japanese rock gardens, patios and in-suite spa services, featuring Sundari products. Treatments are also available in the hotel�s new spa room, which features an indoor and outdoor couples� massage area. Gaige House has been consistently ranked as one of the top hotels in the Sonoma/Napa region. From 1998 to 2006, the Frommer's Portable California Guide has named the property �One of Five� of "The Best Luxury Hotels and Inns".
